I'm glad we agree. Even my least favourite Pink Floyd album (Ummagumma) is worthy of a 3-star rating, and the same applies to Camel, Genesis and YES too.

It's my favourite ambient album and generally very underrated I think. Not a fan of "Louder Than Words" but I suppose that farewell song has it's place there. I guess not many expected/accepted there'd be another Pink Floyd album when it came out.

There's too much "baggage" connected with this list to even try a "personally objective" look at things, but:
- Animals - Obscured - Meddle - Piper - DSOTM - More - Umaguma I loved side 2 of Atom Heart but always felt the side 1 suite wasn't Floydian enough for my taste - too much Gesin and too much overdubbed orchestration.....it almost seems they didn't cue things up right and released the whole thing "as is". It worked much better in its more spartan live versions with just the Floyd.
