Playlist,Ranting And Random Thoughts

I participated a couple of weeks back in a “Secret” Santa Lockdown Playlist Swap game. Not only did I have great fun creating the playlist to the suggested concept, but after receiving my own playlist present and after chatting with the person who sent it to me (who I’d never known of before this morning), we ended up sharing the playlists we made with each other. The rabbit holes are now a warren.

Each of us in the playlist swap were given the email of another player in the game, and three words from that person giving a vague idea of what they might like. The three words I was given: Space, Ambient, Robots.

I decided to try and make a playlist from music only from this year. I cheated a little by using the Our Lady Peace tracks, which are 2020 only because Spiritual Machines has been given a 20th anniversary re-release this year.

I put it together as a stream of consciousness, in the order that made sense in my mind. Once finished, I was almost afraid to listen to it myself, but I did, and I am kind of happy with it. There’s a couple of clunky moments, which if I were making a mixtape I could fix with fades, but although I could lose the jarring breaks, I don’t really want to lose the tracks and the order I put them in. 🤔

There are a couple of tracks that I wanted to put in the playlist, that might have made better transitions, but weren’t on Spotify.
