^^dr wu's avatar reminded me that: Big Trouble in Little China was one of the most enjoyable movies of my childhood, though when I watched it in my adulthood, it didn't have that kind of effect.

If I had participated, I'd surely have done it with these:

I think this was far better than Voltron, which was still very good.

Ah the Skeletor Theme. Still the best evil-theme for me. Unbeatable.

From the more recent ones, here is an awesome song. Haven't watched the anime yet, but love this song a lot. (I would have nominated this one, most probably.)

Logan, I was intrigued too with Utopia, thanks for the link!  though not fond of black comedy..  I dig Black Mirror very much, as it has a futurist edge.. and is really interesting..  though I have to be in the mood to watch an episode..  Stern Smile

Nope. Just had to concentrate on my work, and listened to Celtic relaxing music and stuff while resting. It will go on the same way for a month and a half, but I'll still participate, hopefully. I love you, micky. You're the other half of my heart. Just give it to me, so I can be complete and love you bettt... you bet, I'll ignore you. Hahaha! Evil Smile

Planning to watch it once more. Perhaps in my 20s, I wasn't believing in magic and stuff. Now I do, I may love it again. Star

It is entirely too clear that I watched too much TV in the 60's and early 70's, as I had to eliminate so much for knowing the theme already.  There were many that I would have considered, had I not remembered the theme song.

and a hot tea cheers to all of you. Beer   You all kept it going during the week when i wasn't around..  and gave out some great suggestions.. and juggled a few memories with me.

I watched a lot until the 90's and then as real life kicked in.. I only watched a few select show before finally pulling the plus on TV (another happy Comcast customer) a number of years ago when the last thing that had been worth watching on CTV.. Game of Thrones went completely and utterly in the  toilet during its 4th season.

I don't watch much TV these days, and I hadn't heard of the vast majority here. As before I will vote for the music experience only, and I don't mind whether it fits the or any TV show or works as TV show music - what do I know?
But then the majority of these shouts "I'm TV music" at me (apparently there's a handbook how to do these that many composers know Cool) and thus prevents itself from being voted.
The five that work best as music in my view are:
5) Black Hands - New Trolls: Very good at getting the feeling of suspense across.
4) Randy Newman - It's a Jungle Out There: Not really my taste but very well done at that. Surely one I was happy to play more than once.
3) BoJack's Theme: Some nice sound ideas here and very swinging.
1.5) Lucidity Gone - Cristobal Tapia de Veer: Also this relies much on the funny sound design. Not quite as swinging, but very atmospheric with much stuff to discover. I know people who hate this kind of thing and I'll put it on again and again just to annoy them.
1.5) Daktari: I watched this as a child but had no recollection of the music. This is strikingly original actually, would never have guessed that the music was so much fun.

Easygoing, perhaps. Easy? Hmm, I'd hate myself if I "appraised" people like that. I think you're great guy. If you really want to learn what I think about you, you're like a guy who can adapt to a post-apocalyptic world. Really. It is a great asset, I think. You're sensitive, but you can also endure a "lost paradise". We are not that similar, in lots of things, but I guess similar in "creating" stuff, if we cannot find to entertain ourselves, haha. Sometimes the world doesn't give you the flowers, and you just make flowers from papers... Hey what the hell am I talking about, we are both deviants, hahahah. Handshake

As to Utopia, the violence I feel can be a bit much, and if you continue, keep an eye out for a spoon. One episode was delayed because of a tragic incident at a school. That said, I don't really find the violence senseless or gratuitous. Questionable, certainly. I;m reminded of A Clockwork Orange where the violence is off-putting, but then I think violence should be disturbing. I;m not one who tends to be titillated by violence even if some of my favourite films and TV shows (say Kill Bill, various horror films, or Westworld season one) use it fairly copiously(it's not that copious in Utopia, which makes the violent scenes more powerful and shaking). I tend not to go in for a lot of action, but like it when things are handled intelligently (one could find potential plot holes in various stories).

The violence in Utopia is horrific and disturbing and it is important to the story and atmosphere. It could be more subtle at times. As a father, if kids are involved it's very hard to take, and I am now more sensitised to violence than I was then. I found the story very intriguing and the themes it deals with, and the ethical issues it raises have been issues of particular interest to me for much of my life. I won't go into details as that would be spoilerific. These days I do find many scenes of violence much harder to bear. I loved season one of Korean show called Kingdom (A zombie historical drama) but am having problems with the violence (munching mayhem) in season two. I like horror films, but haven't gone that much for the gory ones -- I prefer, say, folk horror to splatter horror.

For real nightmares, nothing gave me more nightmares than reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy (great novel).
I'll probably watch the remake as well, also because it's easier to find out there with English subtitles.

"keep an eye out for a spoon"... pun intended? LOL Yeah, I skipped the school incident on the second episode. I just finished the third Embarrassed

I remember seeing A Clockwork Orange without flinching but in the last few years I became very sensitive to "ultraviolence". Speaking of anime and brutal change between seasons, I really loved the first season of Psycho Pass, the futuristic setting, the plot, tone and characters, but became disgustingly gore afterwards. I don't know if it got better on the new season but I don't intend to find out.

I already went into some detail about many of these earlier, and I will be excluding ones I know really well and already loved (Twin Peaks and Land of the Lost being very old favourites of mine).

Two of these I have heard, but I feel I didn't remember them so well as to exclude them. I adore the "La Piovra" and "Rote Erde". Both are very much my kind of music, and while I've heard them (but not much before), I feel like listening to them sounded so fresh that I won't exclude them. "Black Hand", on the other hand, is new to m methinks, and I really liked that. It does pain me not to vote for Twin Peaks, but since I've been obsessed with that show, love that and Laura Palmer's Theme (which was an alternate of mine) I will exclude it. When Micky first mentioned doing this topic, Twin Peaks is what immediately came to my mind.

So, to re-cap, I vote for "La Piovra", "Rote Erde" and "Black Hand" while painfully not also voting for Twin Peaks.

I watched it last year and I didn't like it much. The pace is slow, most characters are annoying and the story had too much schmaltzy fantasy for my taste. The intro was the best part of the episode though, I never skipped it.

I had hoped you might get the fairly subtley done pun if you'd seen that and were paying attention. :D I have reverted back to an avatar I used to use for the occasion. I'm the same with the ultraviolence of Clockwork Orange. First time I saw it did not bother me, but now it would be very hard to take. The last time I tried to watch it it gave me real problems. I am intrigued to try Psycho-Pass (the first season) even if I will pass on the later disgusting gore.

Almost my voting by a hair..  Big smile

Black Hand, I forgot to mention, liked it very much; I'll research it, (and Goblin also on the todo list, that was mentioned in one of these polls as film music).

Note: My "TV criteria" was in part to help me determine my 3 in this really difficult poll!  liked them all, but got to vote for three!  and I'm fond of orchestral ones. I think the voting's is in part an anecdote and one gets all these interesting suggestions home. Black Hand a great example of that. Anyway love the 3 that got my vote!

Yet again, beware what JB might have "under the mistletoe".

mistletoe: a leathery-leaved parasitic plant which grows on apple, oak, and other broadleaf trees and bears white ExclamationglutinousExclamation berries in winter.

Perhaps they are some gluttonous human-flesh-eating giant zombie berry-humanoids. Just be cautious.
