so sounds like your favorites were "New Horizons", perhaps my favourite, and "Land of Make Believe", perhaps my least favourite, though I still like it.  I would have guessed the 7th as a favourite, "When You're a Free Man".  I didn't so much like it at the time but really do now.

Yep, and maybe that 7th song will grow on me as it did you. I'm hoping the whole album will. And I see those two are the favorites of my man Relevant too, right on.

Anyway, just listened to Children's Children. Now we're talking. I liked that. Didn't recognize any songs this time but my two favorites  were the 7th one and the 10th one. This album had kind of a smooth, flowing feel to much of it, I like that. Good listening experience.

yep probably their least commercially successful of the classic 7.  But their most proggy.  I also love the flow, especially on the first side with all the short songs seguing into each other.  The two you mention are both favorites, especially "Candle of Life".  At this point you may as well try "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour".  It's excellent IMO.  Hell, you should probably even try "On the Threshold of a Dream", though I don't care for it much.  There would probably be a few things on it you would like

Ok just listened to that Every Good Boy deal that you recommended. It was good. The second song I'd obviously heard a lot on the radio, but it's a really good one. Other than that my favorites were.. tracks 4,5,7,8. That last one I didn't care that much for. All in all strong album, as you already know.

Idk, I guess next I'll listen to this Threshold of a Dream even though you don't care much for it. Guess I'm done with their good albums then it sounds like. But still 5 good albums, that's decent. Not a bad band for sure. Thanks again.

Threshold would make my top 5.
Long Distance Voyager is one of my MB favourites, probably second to Seventh Sojourn for me though I think it really drops off in the last few songs. Really nice pop rock album, if that sounds at all like a good thing to ya...

I listened to it. I actually really liked it and can see why it's in your top 5 of MB albums. A few of the tracks were more rock n' rolly sounding than what I'm used to from them. And I liked the Have You Heard deal a lot. Good album, I really did like it!

So ok guess I'll go for this Long Distance Voyager next. Hope I like it as much as you do. Thanks for the recommendations. I'll end up a fan of this band yet.

I havenīt read all the posts you have talked about Moodies, but I really hope you have listened "In Search Of Lost Chord", thatīs my fav of them! And also not include many "hits" (maybe Ride My See-Saw is the only one). Question of Balance is really great too! Never liked much those later Moodies albums after Seventh, I have to listen them again too.

Those rock n roll songs mostly on side 1 were what killed it for me.  I could never get passed it.  I do like the instrumental and the two minor hits, "Lovely to See You" and "Never Comes the Day"

I am not a big fan of any of the post Seventh Sojourn albums though they all had good songs.  Long Distance Voyager is the one most proggies seem to prefer but for me they are pretty equal up to and including "The Other Side of Life". \

Just listened to Long Distance Voyager. I liked it, especially that first song!! I certainly remember it from the 80's but had forgotten how good it is, wow. And the rest of the album is good too though some filler. Probably not my favorite album from them but still good for sure. And Mortte, I did listen to those two albums you mention. I posted about them both on page 10 of this thread(near the very top of the page). Thanks again you all for your helpful input here. I'm definitely becoming a fan of this band!

Just listened to Days of Future Passed. It started out slow, like some kind of orchestral Disney thing or something. But once it really got into it with songs like that Tuesday deal, and then the one after it something about the evening, it was great. There was a little too much talking in this album but even so, as a whole, it was without question my favorite so far.

I reckon it happened when you turned up at a King Crimson concert and you sneezed and Bob Fripp stopped playing and told you to leave the concert hall.

The Enid. Sure, they're trying to emulate an orchestra, but it's not my thing

I can't think of many. Maybe Enchant. Also, the band Credo who are too much of a Marillion clone.

Misplaced Childhood is an overrated album to me. Much prefer Clutching at Straws. And I was not a fan of Airbag's albums. A little too boring (though nice). And it really doesn't sound like Neo to me. Crossover more like it (which is not an insult).

Genesis for me. I think I'm more drawn to bands who use lead guitar more prominently.
