yeah that's a great one, better than Days of Future Passed IMO.  I also love A Question of Balance and Seventh Sojourn (and also To our Children and Every Good Boy  :))

But don't expect complexity a la Yes or early Genesis.  It's more weird and psych

Alright. I just listened to that whole album, was good. The see-saw song I had heard before but didn't know it was them. All in all I definitely enjoyed that, wasn't blown away like with albums like MDK and Mirage but nice listening experience for sure. Now onto some more albums by them like some of Keneth's suggestions here. I guess A Question of Balance is up next. Thanks guys.

Ride my See Saw is great.  You will probably have heard the first song on "Question of Balance"  :)
I don't think they will blow you away but it's pretty likeable, and nobody else reqallty sounds much like the Moodys during their classic period

I like almost all Prog, though I'll admit, some if it took time--especially the much maligned VDGG and Peter Hammill which took me a couple years to go from Yikes!/Yuck, to Wow/Like/Love. Gentle Giant, kind of the same, though it didn't take as long.

Also some Pop/crossover just doesn't grab me. I came upon 3-4 Saga albums to sample, and it all sounded like mediocre 80's pop to me (though their performance at Baja Prog in 2014 was great!) Also, Roxy Music, much the same way.

Now, there's two bands mentioned a lot so far in this thread, Jethro Tull and Dream Theater, both of which I've been listening to for a long time, that I'm going to go 1/2 and 1/2 on: about 1/2 of their output is totally fantastic!--much of it making my Top Prog list.  The other half: sounds all about the same to me, nothing special; often just dull and not anything I can seem to get into.

Just listened to A Question of Balance and it was good. And you're right I had heard that first song lol, but again didn't realize it was them. Enjoyable listening experience, still not blown away and that last song had too much talking for my taste. But all in all this a band I think I can get into for sure. Onto Seventh Sojourn.

cool, yes the last track is somewhat dated.  I hope they were tongue in cheek but sometimes I wonder.  Still, the chorus is lovely.

You may recognize a song or two from Seventh Sojourn as well.  If you still want one after that, people here really like "To Our Children's Children's Children" which might be the proggiest.  A lot also enjoy "On teh Threshold of a Dream" but I am more tepid towards it

They had apparently had an entire follow up album in the can but had either not recorded it or lost it, with the exception of this one beauty that is now a bonus track on Seventh Sojourn

I've tried to get into Plini but I just can't other than a couple songs. There's something about their sound that's off putting for me. I can't really explain it but it kinda sounds like aggressive muzak to me. And although I've only sampled some of their stuff, there's a sameness to it that I also don't care much for.

Just listened to Seventh Sojourn. It was good but I definitely wouldn't say I liked it better than those other two I listened to before it. The last song I'd heard before lol(a bunch of times). The second and sixth songs I liked the best. Ok well, onto Children's Children. See how that goes.

To my understanding they only recorded "island" and nothing else. In late 72 right after SS was released they embarked on a world tour that lasted a year and a half. After that they felt burned out and went on a 4 year hiatus. There were attempts to recovene sooner but the closest was the Blue Jays album(which I personally consider to be part of the MB canon).

Hey "New Horizons" and "Land of Make Believe" are my top 2 too! 

my second favorite is probably "You and Me".  It was the song that made me a fan as it got a lot of radio play in the mid 70s.  It might even be my #1

Yep, and maybe that 7th song will grow on me as it did you. I'm hoping the whole album will. And I see those two are the favorites of my man Relevant too, right on.


Anyway, just listened to Children's Children. Now we're talking. I liked that. Didn't recognize any songs this time but my two favorites  were the 7th one and the 10th one. This album had kind of a smooth, flowing feel to much of it, I like that. Good listening experience.
