Me too!  I feel very lucky they're coming all the way up to Portland.  Often, SF is the closest some of these tours come to me.  Smile

Yup.....the PNW suxs for progressive/rock/metal bands normally. It's been getting better, more have been coming north. 
Honestly I think it is Steven Wilson influence to Seattle. He loves Seattle and the crowds treat him well, I think more bands are seeing that reaction so they are venturing into unknown territory LOL.

Now I just need Marillion to come here.......

I only saw them once and that was at Rosfest. I thought about seeing them a second time when they came to my area but it was a rather small venue and I figured it would be really packed and crowded so I didn't go(it turns out it kind of was). Then unfortunately not too long after that their guitarist died. I wouldn't mind catching them again.
