Time to play everyone's favorite game,  " Make your own ------ album",  ( hey , indulge me here please Wink
This time I thought we would try The Beatles.
You get to pick 8 Beatles tracks to go on your own compilation album. The one rule is you can only use one track form each existing album. Pick for any 8 albums you like. Don't worry about song length, just pick 8 songs.
Here Goes...

1. Things we Said Today
2. The Night Before
3. Norwegian Wood
4. Got to Get You in to My Life.
5. A Day in the Life
6. Blackbird
7. Here Come's the Sun
8. Let it Be

Here’s mine before everyone comes in with the deep cuts!

Penny Lane
I Saw Her Standing There
She Loves You
Day Tripper
Eleanor Rigby
When I’m Sixty-Four
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
Something

If two of the above are from the same album, substitute “Get Back.”

1. Rain*
2. Norwegian Wood
3. Eleanor Rigby
4. Dear Prudence
5. I Want You (She's So Heavy)
6. Blue Jay Way
7. All You Need is Love
8. A Day in the Life

*Did not appear on a studio album; nevertheless it fits on such a compilation, methinks.

Despite being a big Beatles fan, it is actually not so difficult to make an album this time. Here I go:

And I Love Her
Yesterday
Norwegian Wood
Eleanor Rigby
A Day In the Life
I Am the Walrus
Hey Jude
Something

(The latter might be relaced by Come Together, or I could replace Yesterday with Help!)

Hey Jude
Across the Universe
In My Life
Help
Flying
I am the Walrus
Strawberry Fields Forever
Glass Onion
It's Getting Better
With a little help from my friends (still better than the overblown try too hard Joe Cocker version ;) )

For the Beatles, I believe it should have been more than 8 songs, since their songs are mostly shorter, 8 ones will make for a very short compilation.

- And I love her.
- Yesterday.
- Norwegian Wood.
- Eleanor Rigby.
- A day in the Life.
- Hey Jude.
- While my guitar gently weeps.
- Here comes the Sun.
- Let it be.

And once again I couldn't keep it in the 8 songs mark, just had to go with 9.

I’m genuinely surprised no one has mentioned “Tomorrow Never Knows.” Too much competition on Revolver, I guess. But it’s one of their proggiest imo.

I’m not very fond of the Beatles but love this one. I guess something like

Helter Skelter
Lucy In The Sky
It’s All Too Much
Strawberry Fields
Tomorrow Never Knows

So hard that I won't try. So many are perfect just like they are.

1) I Am the Walrus
2) Something
3) Tomorrow Never Knows
4) A Day in the Life

5) Nowhere Man
6) Across the Universe
7) While My Guitar Gently Weeps
8) It's All Too Much

There's a ridiculous concentration of good songs on Rubber Soul and Revolver.
Bench: Ticket to Ride - In My Life - I'm Only Sleeping - Fool on the Hill - Revolution 9 - Only a Northern Song - When I'm Sixty-Four - Let It Be
Stunning things like Penny Lane, If I Needed Someone, Strawberry Fields etc. don't even make the bench.
But eight Beatles songs rather make an EP only, whereas for Pink Floyd they make a double CD...

I thought this would be really tough but when I started thinking about my absolute favorite Beatles songs it wasn't nearly as hard I thought.

Eight Days A Week
Day Tripper
Ticket To Ride
Eleanor Rigby
Tomorrow Never Knows
A Day In the Life
I Am The Walrus
Come Together

These didn't make the top cut but they would be included if we were building a double album
Two Of Us
I've Got A Feeling
I Want You (She's So Heavy)
When I'm Sixty-Four
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
Roll Over Beethoven
Get Back
The Abbey Road Medley starting with 'You Never Give Me Your Money' and ending with 'The End'.
Got to Get You Into My Life

I would also include what I consider to be the "lost" Beatles tune, Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey, which might as well be a Beatles song because it sounds EXACTLY like one and is composed of song bits that Paul wrote while in the Beatles

"Tomorrow Never Knows" is amazing, but almost everything on Revolver would be fit for the album. There are also "Taxman", "She Said She Said", "For No One", and even "Yellow Submarine" (I know some people despise it, but for me it is genious).

It's a very progressive song in its historical context... But in my opinion it hasn't aged very well. Strip out the effects and tape noises, and the song itself is quite dull to me.

Anyways, here's my list:

1. I Want To Hold Your Hand
2. All My Loving
3. If I Fell
4. Baby's In Black
5. Yesterday
6. You Won't See Me
7. And Your Bird Can Sing
8. I Want You (She's So Heavy)

I suppose I would have had a different list if I had worked backwards, probably including:
I Me Mine
Happiness Is A Warm Gun
Strawberry Fields Forever
A Day In The Life
I guess since Yellow Submarine was also the title track of its own album we can count that, even though it's also on Revolver? Either that, or It's All Too Much

I regret nothing though, those early pop tunes are prime.

Not a Beatle fan, so it's pretty easy for me to pick the one song per album I would put on a compilation.

I've Just Seen a Face
I'm Looking Through You
Got to Get You Into My Life
A Day in the Life

Magical Mystery Tour
Why Don't We Do It In the Road
Here Comes the Sun
The Long and Winding Road

I found this one much more difficult than picking a cool mix of Yes/G/PF. I'm stuck.
...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

Had this come out in 2019 I'd still have thought "This is freakin' great". So groovy. And sorry, the sounds are essential part of it. If you take them away you have something completely different. Almost like Tangerine Dream Zeit or Phaedra played on solo acoustic guitar.

One side for Paul and another for John (sorry, George; if I could choose 2 songs from Revolver, White Album and Abbey Road you certainly would be included).

Side A:
1. I Saw Her Standing There
2. Things We Said Today
3. Helter Skelter
4. The End

Side B:
5. In My Life
6. Tomorrow Never Knows
7. I Am The Walrus
8. A Day In The Life
