IQ were formed in 1981 and are part of the Neo-Prog scene (along with Marillion, Pendragon and others). In the beginning, they were influenced by big prog bands like Yes and Genesis, but quickly developed their own style.
IQ have released 10 studio albums to this date. The last one was "The Road Of Bones" from 2014. The band is currently working on their 11th album, due next spring. This Friday, a 25th anniversary edition of "EVER" will be released.
The band's line-up has been more or less pretty constant throughout their history. Today's line-up consists of Peter Nicholls (vocals), Mike Holmes (guitars, keyboards), Paul Cook (drums), Tim Esau (bass), Neil Durant (keyboards).

Five years after their last performance at Night Of The Prog, the band will finally return to the Loreley in 2019! Please welcome on the rock: IQ

Karcius are from Montreal, Canada and were formed in 2001. They create a unique style of fusion with elements from Rock, Pop, African, Classical, Jazz and Ambiant music. The band released five albums to date and their latest one, "The Fold", has just been released some weeks ago and surely is their most powerful album to date and a contender for the best Prog Album of 2018.

The band's line-up is: Simon L'Espérance (guitars), Thomas Brodeur (drums), Sébastien Cloutier (keys), Sylvian Auclair (bass, vocals)

Please welcome our HEADLINER on Saturday, 20th July - one of the most legendary drummers in music history with his new project: NICK MASON's SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS

We are very proud to announce that PINK FLOYD's drummer NICK MASON will be headlining the Saturday, 20th July 2019, at our NIGHT OF THE PROG FESTIVAL on the famous Loreley, Germany.

NICK MASON is the only member of PINK FLOYD who can be heard on every album and every tour. Contrary to his colleagues Roger Waters and David Gilmour, Mason never had much interest in a solo career and has released only three solo albums.
Earlier this year, Mason formed a band, NICK MASON's SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS. The band consists of Spandau Ballet guitarist Gary Kemp (guitars and vocals), guitarist Lee Harris (Blockheads), Guy Pratt on bass (familiar to Pink Floyd fans), composer Dom Beken (keyboards) and of course Nick Mason himself on drums. Nick even got the blessing from both David Gilmour and Roger Waters for this project.

The band has performed a highly successful tour earlier this year and will be out on tour again in 2019 in North America and the UK. Their setlist is a tour-de-force of old Pink Floyd material, as the band's name suggests.

Tim Bowness is primarily known as vocalist/co-writer with "no-man", a long-running collaboration with Steven Wilson. In addition to releasing six studio albums and a documentary DVD with no-man, Tim has worked with popular Italian artist Alice, Mercury Prize nominated Banco De Gaia, Robert Fripp, Peter Hammill and Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera (amongst many others).

Bowness’s critically acclaimed recent trio of solo releases have entered the official UK Top 10 Rock, Progressive, and Vinyl charts and 2017’s “Lost In The Ghost Light” appeared in several end of year lists and was the recipient of a Prog Magazine award.

Produced by no-man, Tim's new album “Flowers At The Scene” is a vibrant collection of 11 strikingly diverse songs. Against a backdrop of propulsive Art Rock, heartbreaking ballads and more, Tim Bowness distinctively delivers cinematic storytelling and disarmingly direct confessional lyrics on his strongest solo album to date.
Representing the duo of Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson’s first joint production in over a decade, the album features stunning performances from an extraordinary cast of players including Peter Hammill (Van Der Graaf Generator), Andy Partridge (XTC), Kevin Godley (10cc), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), Jim Matheos (Fates Warning/OSI), David Longdon (Big Big Train), co-producer Brian Hulse (Plenty), Australian trumpeter Ian Dixon, and drummers Tom Atherton and Dylan Howe. The Curator, David K Jones, violinist Fran Broady and Charles Grimsdale also guest.

Tim Bowness and his band (Which will basically consist of the no-man live Band minus Steven Wilson) will present tracks from the new album and some classics from the past.

Please welcome on Friday 19th July: CHANDELIER!

Chandelier is a German Neo-Prog band, which released three critically acclaimed albums on InsideOut Music in the 90ies, before calling it a day by the end of the last century. Fast forward 20 years: The albums are now being re-released, and were remastered by Grobschnitt legend Eroc.
Pure (1990) and Facing Gravity (1992) have already been reissued last year and Timecode (1997) will follow soon. These re-releases have already raised some awareness and the band decided to take things a bit further:

After 25 years, CHANDELIER will be back on stage for one night only, performing material from the three albums that placed them at the forefront of the German prog scene in the early 90ies. This exclusive reunion concert will feature four members of the original line-up - which Progressive Rock Files called «one of Europe’s most accomplished neo-progressive rock bands» and the show will center around their album Facing Gravity, featured in Eclipsed Magazine’s list of Top 40 German Prog albums.

Chandeliers original fanbase is located in Germany, France and the Netherlands and there are still many Proggers interested in the work of this fascinating band. This is a very special chance to see them live - just one more time.
This will be a special show - no further dates are planned!

Please welcome on Sunday, 21st July: ALL TRAPS ON EARTH

All Traps on Earth is a new Swedish prog band that will do the first ever live appearance at the Night or Prog Festival, 2019. Their first studio album, "A Drop of Light", written by Johan Brand and Thomas Johnson (Änglagård), was released in late 2018 on AMS record. While the band was initially built for the studio, the overwhelming reception for "A Drop of Light" inspired the creation of a live band, including old friends from the Änglagård days - Erik Hammarström, Jonas Endgegård, Linus Kåse, and Daniel Borgegård Älgå.

The music of All Traps on Earth is deeply rooted in the progressive movement of the late 60s early 70s. It is powerful, full of the chaotic, the symphonic, the enchanting and the fragile. The landscapes are varied through instrumentations that includes wind instruments like the flute, saxophones of all sizes, clarinets, and walls of Mellotrons, alongside fuzz-guitar, Rhodes, Hammond organs. But it is the duo on bass and drums that steals the show!

The band will perform tracks from their studio album A Drop Of Light - but maybe also something from Änglagård at the Loreley!

F.O.R.S. (Famous Or Random Stars) were formed in Switzerland in 2016. Four individual musicians with different backgrounds play together to create Prog Rock songs, preferably instrumental.

The style of the swiss band may be called “Instrumental sphere rock” – a banner the band created themselves. Mighty, delicate, fast, slow, atmospheric, earthly are suitable words to describe FORS` compositions. Their first – self-released – album “Before” was recorded and released in 2018, collecting 12 tracks with a running time of 76 minutes.

The band will perform tracks from their studio album "Before" and will kick off the Saturday with their performance.

Due to unforseen circumstances, IN CONTINUUM have to cancel their show at this year's Night Of The Prog Festival (Friday, 19th July). Both, Dave Kerzner (and his band) and the Night Of The Prog staff regret the decision and we all hope that In Continuum will be performing at Night Of The Prog in 2020 or beyond. We will keep in touch!
In the meantime, we are working on the final band announcement for Saturday and will also fill the free slot on Friday very soon.
