You know, back in '87, when Nirvana formed, both Cobain and Novoselic were HUGE Led Zep wannabes. Of course, it doesn't show in later works, not even on their first album("Bleach", in'89); by the time of In Utero, they had completely shifted away from ripping Zep off. The only clear clues to the fact that they were trying to copy Led Zeppelin were the tons of covers they made of songs like Heartbraker, and Kurt's attempts to find himself an unique voice:songs like Hairspray Queen, Mexican Seafood or Beeswax, from their 1992 Incesticide. What next?

AC/DC are a f***in fantastic rock and roll band and
anyway who says otherwise is a fool.
Anyone who can listen the final crashing section of
Riff Raff and not leap around in wild, joyous abandon
is probably dead, at least from the neck up.
Comparing them to Zepp is like comparing a fish to
a bicycle. Both are brilliant but there is nothing alike
in their approaches.
AC/DC are a fun, boogie band who also wrote some
genuinely brilliant three-chord trick pop songs - Back
in Black, Sin City, Gone Shootin', Let's Get it Up,
Touch too Much etc etc etc.
This does not make them bad musicians as some
twits have pointed out here.
Angus Young is in fact a remarkably good guitar
player. His touch is wonderful and his vibrato
technique to die for, Any man who can do all he does
with tone with just the volume pot on his Gibson SG
and some cranked Marshalls earns my undying
respect. Just listen to the guitars solos on Night
Prowler, Ride On, Riff Raff, it's incredibly good
playing.
AC/DC rule, period.

dude don't worry, bands tend to rip off tracks without knowing all the time ...
my dad seems to rec. that :-
LZ - Kashmir
RATM - Wake Up
were the same ....

Over such a long time it would be hard not to find some repetiotion.

Collaborators will take your soul.

There are similarities in the opening riff, definitely.

I don't think AC/DC is anything like a Zep ripoff band. AC/DC is as stated before just about good time rock and roll. It's not super serious music it's but it's fun to listen too.

Whatever,i dont think theres much of an argument here. AC/DC are average musicians with a specific formula that appeals to AVERAGE listeners, so of cource they arent going to be highly appealing to sophisticated gents like ourselves. They even admit theyve been making the same damn album for 30 years!! Their formula works for what they try to achieve: UNLIKE Zeppelin, their goal has never been to break musical barriers They're just fun , mindless rock at its best.

something pretentious

Would that be Yes's "Chord Of Life"?

More like Moody Blues in Search of the Lost Chord imho.....

Dude - you need to listen to AC/DC from "High Voltage" (1975) up to "Back in Black" (1980) - then try saying the same thing!

The P.Diddy song (Come With Me) was done with the complete co-operation of Jimmy Page. Page appeared on the video.I actually quite like it.I mean it couldnt be worse than the film, could it? Roland Emmerich is a great director isn't he ?Wink
