Been a while since I last posted in here.
Yesterday was a nice return back to music from all the WikiLeaks files I’ve been reading lately.

Air - 10000 Hz Legend
Supersister - Iskander
Sweet Smoke - Just a Poke
Aktuala - s/t
Marvin Gaye - Trouble Man Soundtrack
Sun Ra - Atlantis
Dzyan - Electric Silence
Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans
Tangerine Dream - Official Bootleg Box vol 1

Steve: That sounds awesome! Must be fun to play (and dance to).

Yep that Sweet Smoke album is really a beast

Just kidding.. I think I know which album you're referencing to and woe and behold if I didn't enjoy the heck out of it this time around. It still isn't The Yes Album but it was a great listen yesterday.

The Yes Album really sounded awesome last time I played.  It may have moved up on my Yes list.  I would put it above Fragile now.

Yes - Relayer
Idles - Joy as an Act of Resistance (yet again! It’s easily my favourite album of the year, and is a million miles away from prog)

I absolutely loathed Incantations a few years ago, but I love most of it now, it really doens't feel like a double album.

The Yes Album is my favourite too, it's just a bunch of great tunes and so nicely produced. All bass lines are so memorable, probably more than Anderson's melodies.

Yesterday:
Kikagaku Moyo - Masana Temples
Psicomagia - s/t

Isn't that an amazing work, Sam? I remember when I first got into Oldfield, I found that title to be strangely cumbersome next to stuff like Ommadawn, Hergest, and Q2.  But after a while you realize it is on another level completely, one of those completely absorbing, patient works that almost creates a landscape you have to enter to appreciate.  I believe that was a difficult period in Mike's life, and perhaps he was pouring himself into that title as a way of dealing, creating that wealth of ideas?

^^ I don't know if it's because I'm the same age he had when he recorded it, but I'm very much relating with the feelings he put on record: that lack of a definite direction or goal, the numbness and repetition of the days. It's certainly showing in my own music Ermm

last few days have been good to me .

Genesis---...And then there were three. ( got a nice original atlantic records copy of this to replace my 1994 remaster of this album .so much better! )
Stevie Ray Vaughn--Soul to Soul (MFSL original master recording.)
The Gathering-- ....Always . (original 1992 version)
Soulfly---Prophesy ( still one of my favourite metal albums of all time. )
Skinny Puppy--Remission
Black Sabbath-- Paranoid ( quadrophonic mix)
The Smiths-- Rank
Bruce springsteen-- Born in the usa (say what you will about the guy but this is a good album. )
Ghost--Prequelle
Johnny lee hooker-- Mr Lucky ( amazing album from 1991 )
Supertramp-- crime of the century
Supertramp--Brother where you bound
Supertramp-- breakfast in america
Paradise lost-- draconian times (5.1 mix)
Paradise lost--Gothic (original 1991 recording from peaceville records . it is incredible! )

All in all the supertramp recordings are on another level. I don't know what peter henderson did but those albums are out of this world sounding . some of the most dynamic in prog rock that i have heard.

Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

It's a tough age for many of us. I remember 22, 23 being esp hard for me. Now that I'm on the other side (the old side), I can only say to carry on and try to enjoy your youth, your energy, as much as you can. Try to find the fun in relative freedom youth provides to make mistakes and time to correct things. Try to enjoy the elders you may still have, parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles. I hope that doesn't sound too preachy or whatever, but for me it only became really apparent as I got older and started to lose those people. No one ever took the time to tell me that when I was in my teens and 20s and I wish they had. I wish you well Sam.

Thanks for the advices Jim, although I learned them the hard way when I lost my mother last year. It put my life in perspective and I try to learn from her mistakes and mine and enjoy the present as much as I can. Most of my family lives nearby so I see them most weeks now. I know I should be glad for the life I have but my grumpy nature says it's never enough, but I should correct that about myself. I wish you well as well, thanks again Smile

YESterday:
Visitor 2035 - s/t
Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters
Ain Soph ‎– A Story Of Mysterious Forest
Riverside - Voices in my Head
Yes - Yessongs (First time I heard all three LP's in a row. I really needed those good vibes Big smile)

I guess I'll have to pull out some Supertramp tonight Wink

Funny how that goes, I too had problems with Incantations the first coulple of times I span it. I think I was approaching it expecting another Tubular Bells akd found something completely different. It was my second Oldfield album so I was basically none the wiser. I bought it solely because of Moerlen's involvement and was pretty disappointed as I recall. Nowadays it's easily my fave of his and I have come to adore the somewhat lethargic and shuffling tempo of it. Rather reminds me of the motorik groove found in a lot of Krautrock.

Me yesterday:
Samuel Cadima - Unreleased stuff (I am writing you tonight my friend. Safe to say that you've made yet another u-turn and this dane appreciates it!)
Air - 10000 Hz Legend (I can't seem to stop this album from playing)
Faust - So Far
Hatfield & The North - s/t
Parquet Courts - Wide Awake
Dungen - Tio Bitar
Fela Kuti - Zombi
Aktuala - Teppo Volante
Igor Wakhevitch - Docteur Faust (great way to end the day....although I falseended the day because I genuinely couldn't sleep after this one)
Klaus Schulze - Blackdance
