I agree with The Plank here.
AC/DC have been plagiarising Zep for 30 odd years now. At least Rush only did it until 1975.
Yeah, come to think of it, "Whole Lotta Rosie" sounds just like "Whole Lotta Love" - doesn't it...?

They both sound identical when played backwards.

Considering, at least here in the states, ACDC didn't even show up till 78 or 79 it is pretty hard to consider them the best rock band of the decade. I always lumped them in with the 80's bands. I did see them in 79 opening up for Areosmith. I thought Areosmith was better.

Shame the States is so far behind the rest of the world
AC/DC were formed in 1973 and hit the big time in 1974 with a single called Jailbreak. Like many rock bands, Led Zep were influences, but so were the Rolling Stones and, more obviously, true rock'n'roll such as Chuck Berry (AC/DC covered "School Days" on the album TNT. It's obvious, from their back catalogue, that they never tried to be anything other than a hard rock'n'roll band.
Who cares whether anyone was better? AC/DC are the best at what they do.
Any just why we are comparing two incomparable, non-prog bands on a prog rock forum is beyond me

Ooooh and don't forget that Led Zep were Spirit wannabes so much so that they stole their tune Stairway to Heaven from Spirit's track 'Taurus'

Yes, and Kashmir is just a re-hash of "She Loves You" by The Beatles.

Wasn't it Fairport Convention and Utopia?
I was distracted by large quantities of alcohol, weed and the attentions of a rather pretty but promiscuous young lady.
Mind you, I rolled off when Zep came on!

Anyone notice almost every AC/DC song has THE SAME DRUM BEAT!!!!??? |
That doesn't bug me as much as the fact the %99 of AC/DC songs start the exact same way!
I don't think AC/DC is anything like a Zep ripoff band. AC/DC is as
stated before just about good time rock and roll. It's not super
serious music it's but it's fun to listen too.
