Loved his playing on the live version of Kobaia. I actually found one of solo albums at a thrift store. Much better than the ratings reflected.

Oh man  I was just digging his playing on the many albums he contributed to. Sad loss. He was about 20 when he performed on the Magma Live LP. R.I.P. Didier.

We just watched a few videos with him on YouTube and will listen to the
Magma live album later. Great violinist; he will be sorely missed.

He was actually only 17 when the Magma live album was recorded.

I enjoyed his work with Pierre Moerlen's Gong "Downwind" album. We're losing too many of the guys who defined the genre and set the bar so high. I fear the next 5 years are going to be brutal... At least they leave behind timeless pieces of art that will be enjoyed for generations to come. Not many people can do that.

A tremendous loss to progressive music. When it comes to the "big four" violinists (Ponty, Lockwood, Way, Jobson), I think Didier was probably the best, at least on record, next to JLP. Didier's New World and Surya are required listening. RIP!
