There are sections in Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon (Make Me Smile) / So Much To Say, So Much To Give which reminds me of gentle giant.

that is Chicago for you.... Beginnings to me is one of the most beautiful and heart inspiring songs I've ever heard.  It is the PERFECT song that captures that feeling of falling in love and put it to song and music.

the live version of that in that concert is pretty damn good.. but I prefer the studio version. One of those songs completely imprinted into my musical DNA. One of those songs I can hit dial up on demand in my cerebial jukebox

I saw Pink Floyd in Chicago. Great concert.

I hope for this thread to solely be about the band Chicago end not about random bands gigging in Chicago, I will strongly recommend that to be respected, for the sake of dignity and respect for thread, Chicago – band and for this tremendous concert.

I agree.. sorry.. the urge to spam is strong in me. I am weak and need so little encouragement LOL

anyhow.. I think the real star of that show is of course Terry Kath. You get a sense of why so many think he was a greatly overlooked talent on guitar not to mention a great vocalist in his own right. Things that can lost in the overall mix just spinning albums.

I'm a Chicago pufferfish - I first dug only their first three, especially III!  Over the years, V and VII were added to the list; now, I'm on board until XI.  I pufferfished the hell out of Chicago.

And I really did see Chicago in Boston.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

^    I wasn't even born then !!
I was lucky to have scored a 4 Concert DVD collection via E-bay ;
Tanglewood 1970
Arie Crown Theater 1972 (Brilliant, with Devil's Sweet)
Amsterdam 1977
Pine Nob 1979 (grainy quality, good set-list for that period)
Pity that any official concerts are withheld thanks to crooner Pete. Seems he wants the lion's share of the royalties from such releases....

Terry Kath was so good. So good.
Excellent concert. I saw them in 1971 in Milwaukee.
What a band. Perhaps the best show I've ever attended.

Ballet For A Girl In Buchanon is one of the great compositions of our lifetimes.
Did I read somewhere that Walter Parazaider wrote most of it in high school?
Mentally bookmarking this and putting it off until that rainy day when it's needed. Thanks for posting!
