I almost never listen to TB, Hergest Ridge or Ommadawn. They're mostly good, but no better.

But QE2, Five Miles Out, Crises, and Discovery tick all the boxes for me.

^ Agreed that his 80s period is very strong and often given short shrift
While QE2 and Five Miles out are my favourites in this list, Discovery in particular is underrated

I have a real soft spot for Tubular Bells and listened to it so much as a teenager. I don't put it on so often now, perhaps once or twice a year but when I do it brings me great joy. Ommadawn is my favourite however I was completely underwhelmed by the new one.
