Hi there,
I'm new to this forum, let me introduce myself as a musician: I'm a drum teacher playing since 1995 in several bands, most of them metal-oriented and always with a progressive approach as I like to experiment, sometimes with time signatures, sometimes with complex rhythms, but always fusing ideas from different styles. I've info in my website for those curious: http://chusmaestro.com HYBRID is the band where I pushed the experimentation to the limit, it's an extreme and progressive metal band with two released albums and one EP (now on hiatus). Here's a link to stream all our music: http://hybridnoise.com There's a lot going on in every song with complex structures and unexpected changes, not an easy listening for sure. The albums are conceptual so a full listen is highly recommended. By the way, the band was listed in the Prog Archives before I joined the community, feel free to comment and share your thoughts if you want to post a quick review. Currently, I'm not involved in any band, just teaching and playing along to songs I like, you can check out my drum covers in my youtube channel: http://youtu.be/zbcXmMV0eVQ Nowadays I'm open to collaborate with other musicians and very interested in creating something "outside the box" with a huge (or weird) range of influences. |

Thanks Micky! much appreciated. I might dress like that everyday due to the success of the comments about the video, back to the 19th century!

I've found through my experiences that killer personal style is popular with proggers.. and of course more importantly.... the ladies
Mine was flannel shirts (pre Grunge days of course) with my red Chuck Taylors with neon green shoelaces... it works...women love men with style.. good or bad.. doesn't matter... Micky tested.. Micky approved |

200% agree!
Man, we dress the same! I always wear flanned shirts since I was a kid (pre-everything) with my (this time black) Converse as well, what a curious coincidence. The facts (pick your favorite shirt color): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stvtMz-Y-28 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06gFIDlwjoA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Hoj58Ydui8 |

Wow, great stuff! It's been too long since I was behind the kit (or worn flannel for that matter).
I'll have to agree with Micky; #3 is your best look.

never too late man... get you some flannel... and yeah.. watching his videos make me yearn to be behind the kit again. I always always played bass in the bands I was, I was good at it, but my first love was always drums even if I was not particularly good at it.
I went to the Keith Moon school of drumming.. hit everything in sight while half falling out the stool drunk and worry more about which chick I was leaving with that what the other guys in the band were playing. My shining moment on vocals and drums was the time we did a bang up cover of SD's Daddy Don't Live in That New York City no More. |
