Hi,

I am a 19-year-old guitarist/composer from Finland and my bedroom studio project is called Ztla. I compose and arrange the music alone but invite other musicians to play on the tracks if needed. I'm mainly influenced by modern prog stuff such as Plini and David Maxim Micic.

My latest track is called Save the world. It's a kinda of a prog rock instrumental piece and it features stuff like a violin solo and some minor orchestrations. I would really appreciate any comments, criticism and feedback you can give.

Here's a soundcloud link:

I'm also planning on releasing an EP for which I also have quite a lot of songs composed but that won't be happening for at least a couple of months due to hand health issues.

checked this out...

I like what I am hearing.. but it is missing something. first feedback....  instrumentals are so cliche man..

what you have is good very good... but I've probably heard a 100.. a 1000 similarly good instrumental pieces. What sets one above the other...  something distinctive...  find yours a good vocalist... preferably in your native language.. sing some poetry.. sing the yellow pages..  it doesn't matter for most listeners LOLThumbs Up... provide a contrast to the music itself.  For if one isn't among the 1%r's of the musical world talent...or using something non standard in terms of instrumentation...  and considering how ADHD most listeners are...  your fine work will pass unnoticed outside of whatever friends or family you get to listen to it.

that said...  nice piece. Clap

Glad you kinda liked it. Lots of good feedback here, thanks!

Vocals are a thing I do if I feel the track needs them. I have some demos made with vocals in mind and more that are instrumental. Imho instrumentals give more freedom to the listeners imagination. You can just read the title of the song and start picturing things. Vocals on the other hand deliver more exact images.

This track was originally supposed to have vocals but I gave up on them very early on because they didn't fit as well as I would've wanted them to.

Right now, I'm not really aiming for any remarkable success in music. If I were, I'd start by writing shorter tracks. Of course I'm not steering away from it, but since I've just begun my studies in the field of music and started to hang around some really amazing musicians, I really feel that there is so much progress to be made that there's no rush right now.

Thanks for the kind and thoughtprowoking words!
