I'm starting to think this is better than most ELP's classic stuff ) Peter Gabriel - PG 2 (Certainly worse than the previous one but not bad.) Pristine - Detoxing (Hammond sweet Hammond )

Hey Sam. It's exactly what Michael said, 'UP is PG's best solo album. ' I also think PG 1&2 aren't that memorable certainly PG 3: Melt and SO are far better in my estimation. Also, check out New Blood. A full blown Orchestra tied to many PG classics. Don't quit on PG yet!

Yeah, I noticed that. I unconsciously payed less attention in the middle and focused again in the end

They are not ELP clones, just an improved version The debut is easily my favourite as well. I unfairly dismissed "Pictures at an Exhibition" because it's a live album, watching Carl Palmer perform the whole album last April made me aware of that. I really need to get that one.

The Beach Boys-- Pet Sounds ( listened to this one in stereo PCM 24/192k, MONO 24/192k and DTS 5.1 surround 24/96k master audio. Holy crap! Also, the production and various uses of many different instruments makes this album sound a bit like a crossover prog album. So brilliant. Love that Brian Wilson. What a Homerun he hit in 1966. Just 24 years old too. Unreal. )

OSI-- S/T ( so brilliant. Introduced this album to many at work today and they all loved it. ;)

Black Sabbath-- Master Of Reality ( still my favourite sabbath album. )

Dream Theater-- Black Clouds & silver linings ( some of the guitar solos Petrucci pulls off on this album is absolute bonkers. I still feel though this album works better as an instrumental album, especially for a track like Wither. )

Oceans of Slumber-- Blue ( EP) ( I can't get over how good Cammie Gilbert's vocals are. She is a new hero of mine)

Peter Gabriel-- SO 25th ann box set ( really love the live in Athens discs of 1987. Most redeeming part of the box set. The remaster by David Bottril is a tad too bright for my liking on the SO album itself, but sounds much better with less analytical headphones/amps. ;)

DIO-- Dream Evil ( my favourite DIO album. Sometimes you just gotta crank Sunset Superman. ;)

Frank Zappa - Chunga's Revenge

Just one today. Jukka Tolonen - Tolonen! If you are unfamiliar with Jukka Tolonen, he is probably the best known Finnish prog guitarist, performing with acts such as Tasavallan Presidenti and Wigwam. This is his first solo effort (which he recorded when he was just 19 years old) and it's such an incredibly mature effort. It's very jazzy, with some great flute and saxophone parts, but of course, the main attraction is Jukka's phenomenal guitar playing.
Also parts of Magma's K.A. and Area's outstanding Arbeit Macht Frei.
I visited some record stores on Soho (Reckless Records and Sister Ray). Sadly, many prices are very high, but I found a few nice deals, which I will hopefully come back for. I saw original Phaedra for 6 pounds in VG+ condition and also Ricochet on CD for 3 pounds. There were many prog records, but most of them were overpriced, which is kind of a shame.

Oh and Heldon is da bee's knees
I need to dig out their early albums as they too have been collecting dust for far too long. Thanks for the reminder Hou guys!
