What albums did you listen to today?

Hugh Hopper - Hopper Tunity Box. It's quite a coincidence really, because when I was listening to this album today morning, I've noticed that one of the members on here had listened to the album the previous day. It's a really, really good album, mainly fusion-oriented, but with distinctive "Hopperisms" and touches of dissonant, free-jazz-inspired RIO style. Great album!
Can - Ege Bamyasi. After a revelation that Tago Mago turned out to be for me yesterday, I had to check out the next album of the so-called "Damo" trilogy. In comparison, Ege Bamyasi seems to be a lot less spacey and ambient and much more straight-to-the-point. There are some nice funky elements in the music as well as exotic percussion touches. A really, really nice listen! Plan for tomorrow: Future Days! 
The Cosmic Jokers - The Cosmic Jokers. I decided to come back to this record after remembering the pleasure I've got from listening to it for the very first time in my life. This is "kosmische musik" at its best. What stroke me this time is how, at times, this is similar to Ash Ra Tempel.
Art Zoyd - Musique Pour L'Odysee. I am relatively new to Art Zoyd and I really enjoy their music. My favorite album from them is their debut and, naturally, every new AZ album I listen to is treated with comparison to their first work. Musique Pour L'Odysee is definitely not as esoteric and radical in its musical solutions. However, it is quite similar with its dark, neo-classical chamber music feel. To be frank, this album was not really memorable or significant, but I do know it was good! 
Ash Ra Tempel - Schiwingungen. I feel like this one is a bit less advanced than their first album, but as atmospheric. Ash Ra Tempel introduce more diversity to their music, which seems to work really well. Vocals are really sort of a hit-and-miss in my opinion, but I can live with them. Manuel Gottsching's guitar playing is what makes this one so special for me! One of my top guitar heroes really. Wolfgang Mueller's drumming is tight, heavy, and precise, even in the most dense moments. It's a great, great album!
Clear Frame - Clear Frame. I bet some of you have not heard of this one. This is a Canterbury supergroup, which recorded only one album, in 2008, and it features Hugh Hopper, Charles Hayward, Lol Coxhill, Robert Wyatt, and Orphy Robinson. I must say - this album is dead good. I absolutely love it. It walks the line somewhere in between the Canterbury-tinged jazz-fusion and quirky free-jazz, but it doesn't end just there! There are elements of RIO and more importantly Caribbean music, delivered through Robinson's steel drums. Extremely varied and just plain fascinating! Highly recommended!
A.R. & Machines - A.R. IV. This is generally known as the band's magnum opus and I do agree with that statement. The album is the climax of everything the group had recorded by then with perfect balance. I particularly like the guitar work and drums and percussion on this album. It just has such a unique, inexplicable sound to it. It keeps perfect equilibrium between ambient and melodic.
Arti E Mestieri - Tilt. This was one of the first Italian prog rock albums I've seen. The cover immediately reminded me of Tubular Bells. But, to the point. The music on Tilt has a very original quality to it. It does remind me of RPI at times, mainly due to the Italian vocals, but on the jazzier side, it is just incredibly vigorous and unique. There is electric violin, similar to that in Caravan, and various workouts on saxophones. Everything supported by dreamy Fender Rhodes. You've got to love this one!
