   So here come two masterpieces of kosmische music, 2 noisy propellers from Neu!'s 1st and Faust's 4th albums respectively. Which one do you like best?

	"Negativland". The opening sound collage, the killer bass riff, the tempo changes, the wailing guitar... ... and while Faust could do no wrong, there's simply music before Neu! and music after Neu!.

	From a musical point of view, I prefer "Negativland" over "Krautrock": if the second one has a "catchy" starting, I feel it falls quickly into an unidimensional approach and the trance effect one could expect from the formula tried by the band is slow to come. On the other side, the heavy riff and heavy rhythms of "Negativland" invoke a more direct approach of the Rock'n'Roll formula (Black Sabbath discovering dub music?), but manages to get out of it by creating a true effect of trance, thanks to this simple, obstinated and unrepentant rhythm. Yet, the Neu! duo is quick to change the pace of thier tune, going faster, adding anguishind distorted guitars sounding like someone having a panic attack in the middle of a crowded street, the drums now run like the heartbeat of a nervous breakdown! You can't get bored with this track...

	Hmmm. I guess overall "Negativland" although I like both. It always sounded to me (hearing it mostly on earbuds/headphones) like they cut and pasted a jam that gradually got faster and harder; they didn't actually change the tempo as they were playing it.

	This is a tough poll. I adore both of these tunes. Though seeing as most folks are going with NEU! (which rather surprises me tbh) I'll give Faust some love. I'm not sure most youngins today understand just how innovative Faust were in their heyday (hell they're still right there on the cusp of musical mayhem/invention). People are so accustomed to hearing the grainy abrasive sound of Krautrock - having run into it in a plethora of different genres (post punk, electronic, pop, hip hop and a multitude of metal styles to name but a few), yet at the same time forgetting where it all started. There was nothing out there that sounded even remotely close to Krautrock, when IV first hit the street back in september 1973. Nothing. The legacy of that track alone can be witnessed in today's underground scenes in every corner of the world. That sludgy buzzing larval-like sound.
