embarrassing Pink Floyd question

I have an ancient vinyl and believe I even have it originally on cassette assuming it was not one of those crunched (long story).

 

Anyways, I never appreciated it but want to give it another chance.

I'm looking at ordering a CD but I notice that instead of the 12 track original, it has been released with the track 'When the Tigers Broke Free,' confusingly (to me) as a bonus track but as track 4 on the disc (instead of at the end, where bonus material usually goes).

 

What copy should I be looking for and does this new 13 track format, as mentioned, in any way detract from the flow/enjoyment of the disc?

 

Personally, I can't see how it could make the disc worse but I was wondering what's up with this and I figure that somebody here might be able to set me straight on this matter.

 

I'd fool around on google trying to figure out what's what but I am a zombie and need sleep (yes--my last post, here, today--you're welcome).  Besides, I expect a more reliable answer within then any I might get from said google-shot.

 

 

 

Agreed.  After sleeping on it, I was tempted to delete the post but whatevas...not sure how that works or looks or if their is something wrong with Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.

 

Places I usually buy only have the remastered 13-track version anyways.

I doubt if When the Tigers Broke Free is just a bonus track. This song appeared initially in the film Pink Floyd: The Wall, released sometime between The Wall and The Final Cut.

I think it would detract from the flow, but not from the enjoyment of the album. Since I own an original vinyl copy, I can hardly imagine any song between One of the Few and The Hero's Return. I found When the Tigers Broke Free on a single in a record shop a few years later.

This reminds me of Clutching at Straws (Marillion, 1987). The fourth track, Going Under, did not appear on the original vinyl release, only on the CD (which was released at the same time). In this case, it does not have a bad influence on the flow and it is one of the most enjoyable songs on the album.
