Damo Suzuki, James LaBrie and Steve Howe =P

Ok. For real this time:

Greg Lake, Jon Anderson, Derek Shulman, Annie Haslam, Sonja Kristina, Peter Gabriel and Andre Matos
Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

Greg Lake is probably THE voice of prog, since he sung for two of the most influential acts in Prog, but I have to say Peter Gabriel is still the best singer I've come across in terms of range, personality, and emotion, in or outside prog.

A good reminder that Zappa employed some great singers - and I would happily add Ike Willis.

Greg Lake: fantastic, such a shame the voice dropped and cracked in recent years, much like Ian Anderson.

Steve how? LOL

It went like this: Steve Howe was Yes´s Phil Collins (excuse me that clumsy expression Tongue).

Both are very weak lead vocalists but can sing the harmonies just perfectly. Try to emulate their high pitch tones, you may find very difficult. Both great in their own special way nevertheless, in their younger days of course. Nowadays I can´t stand Phil at all (I´m very sorry Phil).

Exactly Clap Like Geddy Lee´s his voice is good when he sings normally, being soft and very warm actually. I don´t like high pitched vocals expect when it´s really very good, the singer having control on it like truly gifted singers as David Byron & Jon Anderson in their prime. Geddy also can sing very warmly if he wants. When both Geddy Lee and Peter Hamill get shouting & screaming the whole song suffers badly. The VDGG stuff is very good, especially its dark feel & heaviness but suffers when Peter gets too serious, in a way IMHO. His voice fits the material very good though, possible the best vocalist for the stuff. I really tried to listen their 2010 live concert on DVD but I had to struggle to listen the long gig but I´m glad I did. The music is excellent but suffers from vocals IMHO. Great man & performer but VDGG is not really my cup of tee.

This tread is getting very very interesting...
