I own two John Scott shirts, so I definitely want Big John up.

Fun fact: John Scott has two more goals than Sidney Crosby has in the all-star game. GOAT!

No, goons have no place in hockey.  The guy can't really play, he's just a thug.  Goals do, however, have a place which is why the rumored Bettman extension is so damn sad.

being from montreal and a huge habs fan, I would say no. it seems like an alright idea but it's just a gimmick. and the fan base here is too smart for a gimmick like that. having that said I love fighting in hockey but it just doesn't have the same relevance as it once did. bringing him up as a scratch and having him around the team is an alright idea, but the guy ain't playing.

You strike me as someone who's never actually played hockey, which if you do, excuse me. Goals are not the only thing you have to be good at in order to be a good hockey player. A good check could force a turnover which could ultimately result in a goal and a fight can rile up a team that had lost it's spark before. Plus, the guy has one of the best net-front presences in the league. When I think of a thug or a goon, I picture Torres, Cooke, or Jarkko Ruutu. Even Ruutu's teammates hated him. Scott brings great energy to the game, even If it isn't flashy goals. If you have stayed in the league for eight years, you're one of the best hockey players in the world.

But things can't get any worse for this team, don't tell me you prefer the invisible Devante?

A supposed robust left-Wing, never saw him though.

Reminds me of the old Sports Illustrated story of Sidd Finch.
