Wow, I was just kidding! I thought ümlaut would make more sense than umlaut. (Every language has it's silly things, like d/t/dt with verbs in Dutch.)
Btw "hoeren" means "whores" in Dutch

I was just kidding as well. in English you have other funny things, for example 7 different pronunciations for "-ough". if you come across some unknown word that contains "ough" you have no idea how to pronounce it. by the way: I am a native English speaker

Nothing silly about this. Just pure simple logic of cunjugating verbs, which only occurs when the stem of a verb ends with a "d" .
If I have no idea, I cough instead .
