There are many that I've given that title over time but right now I'd say it's a toss up between these:

Allman Brothers Band - Mountain Jam (especially the last 10 minutes or so, when they ease into the mid-tempo swing and segue into Duane's climactic slide solo)

King Crimson - Prelude: Song Of The Gulls/Islands

Rayuela - Vendre Con El Tiempo

hard core man.  I love me some ABB, hell, more than any sissy prog band that is for sure. Would never consider Mountain Jam to have turned up in a discussion of beautiful music however LOLClap

Now if talking ABB..  and beautiful music man....  Dreams brother.  If you are not moved to tears by Duane's solo, you have no heart or soul.  I do consider that to be the single most moving guitar playing I have ever heard. I've listening to it.. maybe what.. a 1000 times.. hope to have another 1000 listens before I'm dead and burned and still it never fails to raise the hair on the back of my neck and induce tears of beauty

frickin fabulous.

Very true. Dreams would probably be right after Mountain Jam in my books. Simply an amazing piece of music. The version on the 9/19/71 Stonybrook live album is phenomenal.

Not too beautiful but the first ABB song I herd was Don't Want You No More. Pretty fun.

As for the topic, there was a short little ditty that was on Phish's 1996 album Billy Breathes and was pretty nice even though it had a short duration.

yeah that is an amazing performance (and album)

that is by far the best performance of Dreams I've heard.

number 3 in my list of live Allman tracks.

number 2 would be that extended version of Statesboro Blues on the Ludlow Garage album

number 1?
I listened to this earlier this morning to try to snap me out of my funk this morning.  It sort of worked, got a smile out of Raff at least as I had the whole gamut of air instruments going.  When this kicks into Soul Serenade, you can hear the angels sing and are reminded again why we love music as we do. At its best it can caress the heart and soul almost as much as a well endowed Redhead in a short shirt with f**k me eyes...LOL

Earlier in this thread, someone mentioned Big Big Train. Most of what they do is just exquisite. Curator Of Butterflies is beyond beautiful - brings me to tears......

The track 'Pollen' by French band PULSAR - exactly like you're floating along the wind without a care in the world.

I remember my mother owning an LP version of Ravel's Bolero, when I was a small boy. The cover art was ornamented by a close up shot of a rose, and I thought it was so beautiful together with the music.

As for something that's featured on PA?
Popol Vuh.

Thanks for bumping the thread. This gives me the opportunity to answer an old unanswered question:

First one that comes into my mind:

I loved "In The Court of the Crimson King", "In the Wake of Poseidon" and "Lizard", but that was mostly for the soft melodies and the beautiful vintage keyboards.
However, I never understood what is so breathtakingly beautiful and amazing about Fripp's guitar playing. Can anyone explain to me what it is about him that everybody loves ?

The guitar sounds as if a violin is smoothly bowed, thus blending well with the mellotron.
But the way Robert Fripp plays is only part of the answer. What I find beautiful here is the melody of the guitar solo with the many sixth and seventh jumps inside it.
