This is like trying to choose between food and drink: both are essential to life. But Can gets my vote, as one of the great musical groups of the last century.

Amon Düül ll but only because they need the vote. I couldn't possibly chose between the two.
I'll back up the Great Dane on this one. Can and Duul are both amazing........
I'll go with this as well. Two of my very favorite bands. The latest Amon Düül album "Düülirium", which was previously known as "Bee as such", is excellent, by the way.
I also recommend the re-release of "Vortex". It is a rather conventional album, but the re-release has two bonus tracks which are anything but ordinary, especially "(Ras)Putin in der Badewanne", which has the repeated line "Schiffchen fahr'n in der Badewanne" ("sailing ships in the bathtub"). These bonus tracks appear to be recently recorded because Renate's voice sounds more mature in them.

Apples and oranges. The two groups have almost completely different approaches to composition, and polar opposite aesthetics.
