Haven't listened to Hendrix in a long time, since I'm right now re-discovering psychedelic hard rock from the late 1960s/early 1970s after having gone through a long time of listening to very little music from before the mid-1970s or so. In his case, it's interesting that he's also a forerunner to the entire Parliament-Funkadelic hard funk tradition. (some of the tracks on Maggot Brain is not too far removed from his weirder stuff)

I care about them, Train of Thought and Awake are still easily two of my favorite progressive metal albums. 

The Glass Prison is probably my favorite from that particular album. It's a shame they just get hated on over here, I say don't be a fanboy or a hater.
