'Gonna kick some gluteus max!' No words can describe how stupid that lyric is. I think just that one lyric shows why Rush can't and shouldn't rap.

Every song on Grace Under Pressure apart from "Kid Gloves" and "Red Lenses" is a personal favourite.
Really enjoy "Grand Designs", "Manhattan Project" and "Mystic Rhythms" from Power Windows. "Force Ten" and "Time Stand Still" are the big standouts for me from Hold Your Fire. While all pretty decent, I wouldn't count any track from Presto among my favourites. I like "Roll the Bones". Also "Dreamline" and "Neurotica". "Animate", "Nobody's Hero", "Alien Shore", "Leave that Thing Alone", all stuff I enjoy from Counterparts. Similarly to Presto (although with less decent songs) there isn't really anything that stands out for me in Test For Echo.

1. Distant Early Warning
2. Alien Shore 3. Red Sector A 4. Between Sun & Moon 5. Manhattan Project??? I don't know. Besides a few songs on Grace Under Pressure and Counterparts, there wasn't much of Rush's output that I loved after Signals until 2007. |

Most of the songs on Grace Under Pressure would take this era of Rush for me, and there are a number on Counterparts that are great ("Nobody's Hero", "Alien Shore" etc).
However, "Available Light", the last tune on Presto, is for me one of the best of this era.

For me, the best of this time period would automatically include every single song on Grace Under Pressure. I love that album from start to end. Then: Side A of Power Windows, plus "Territories" and "Middletown Dreams" Side A of Hold Your Fire, minus "Second Nature," plus "Lock and Key" and "Turn the Page" "Show Don't Tell," "Chain Lightning," "Presto," "Available Light" "Dreamline," "Bravado" Every song on Counterparts minus "Animate," "Stick It Out," and "Everyday Glory" "Driven," "Time and Motion," "Totem," "Dog Years," "Resist," "Limbo"
