tfw glad I never have to worry about asking a girl out on a date again. I totally and absolutely sucked at it.

though I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the occasional thrill of falling in love.  But I'll take the comfort of married life.  A successful marriage, at that.  An unsuccessful marriage is something I hope I can avoid.  That would be worse than anything.

I think I'm going to get away with never knowing how to ask a girl out.  Just mumbling some sh*t worked for me.

Ever feel like your friends are your friends just out of proximity and convenience, not because you share any common interests or hobbies?  Mine are talking about pooling money for 150 acres of hunting land and asking if I want in.  Confused

Part of me feels like asking a girl out would be super easy and all you have to do is be honest and straight with them but the other part of me knows i have no idea what i'm talking about and am full of sh*t.

I can ask a girl "out" on a daily basis: "Please, would you go out of my room?" I can't stand people invading my personal space. Stern Smile

I was always reasonably okay at asking a girl out - but when we went out, I went so far out of my way not to appear the least bit threatening that I never ended up getting anywhere and the gril would either lose interest in me quickly or we'd enter the Friend Zone, never to return.  No risk, no reward - that's the lesson learned.  By the time I was in my early 30s I figured I had nothing left to lose and I made a very sudden an unexpected move on this gril I'd known casually for about a year.  Turns out she had recently "given up trying" too, and just let it happen.  And now she's my wife.  The cool thing about marrying late is that I'm so much older than all the parents of my kid's friends, so I get to feel experienced and distinguished, which is BS but I like at least pretending I'm more experienced in life.

Most of mine are that way, but they know well that I don't hunt. I might not mind taking that opportunity, though, if I trusted the people who asked me. Some of the woods can be very pretty to walk around in.

As far as I know you can walk around in the woods without paying any money for it.
