Objectively, KC just is the better band.

Objectively this is an opinion, and so subjective.

I meant musical talent-wise, and yeah I guess its not that objective when you say "better".

Well we may as well close the poll now... KC is leading by 4 and no votes have been made for quite a while.

Micky has already spoken. And Sunday morning is soon enough. The leading position has shown alternating behaviour from day 1.

Edit: KC's advantage has been reduced from 4 to 2 in about one hour and a half Tongue.

I'd say we should close it friday evening or sunday morning if we want a specific date to close it.

^ I think these polls run for exactly a week, which means it's closing sometime on Sunday; I doubt the mods will be changing that. Besides, it's a good fun to watch and read what folks post here.

Ugh, they're both 'prog', it's just the truth. Tongue

Anyway, I voted for Floyd because I've known them longer and overall like them much more. Heart

This is how I feel about these two groups:

Best ever Electric Prog artist: King Crimson.

Best ever Psych/Space Prog artist: Pink Floyd.

And I shalt not let any poll put them asunder.

Floyd closing the gap again just as KC seemed to be getting a lead.  Fitting finale this.

I have'nt voted yet. I admire KC for their complexity and originality, but I much prefer Floyd's music.

At the moment, I'm thinking of voting for Floyd unless someone can give me a reason to vote for KC that I have'nt thought of yet.

Pink Floyd is easier to enjoy at first spin but KC's complexity and originality lasts (much) longer. There's just so much "more" within the music to discover and treasure - which is why I never grow tired of them. l love both but the latter band is in another league. Well, atleast to me.

King Crimson never settled for making 'middle age' prog. To be honest I can't stand some of KC's post 1974 stuff but at least they carried on reaching for something different. Floyd just settled for a pale imitation of themselves post Waters although its not terrible. 'Not terrible' however is not an achievement.Wink

yeah man...  I tolerated my ex's love of Celine Dion.. but damnit man... THAT was far worse than anything she did.

So I guess if you want a reason to vote for K.C.  there you go... they never did anything half as sh*tty of what Floyd descended to in the 80's and beyond.  Hey I voted for them... but I try to forget they didn't have the good sense to call it a day when Roger left.
