I like KC a lot too but, I'll vote PF, two bands in history if I had to pick would be Pink Floyd and The Beatles. Thumbs UpHug

Not that I can vote yet, however I should point out that King Crimson is my choice, unquestionably.

They're inconsistent but, to be honest, I kind of grew out of Pink Floyd. I rate them like I rate Eagles or Queen. Pleasant, but completely unchallenging, pop rock. As dire as some of Fripp's audacity can seem sometime it hasn't got a lick on The Wall (currently frontrunner for my least favourite album of all time).

Very easy for me, Floyd by miles, maybe even light years (or perhaps parsecs?).

Heard it.

I still think The Wall is worse.

Try Megaparsecs.

That's closer.

King Crimson? Respect the hell out of them.. but I count what I love from them in terms of number of songs.. not albums.
How about the number of favorite moments?

BTW, what time does the poll end so that everyone who was left undecided gets to vote?

^ if you are going to vote for the King of Prog, please do it before this week ends. If it's the Pink of Floyd, it would be best if you waited for a couple of weeks Geek

Have you voted yet?

I haven't. Embarrassed

seems like more than a few are holding on to their votes...

should make for a fun last few hours...  great way to end it!

I'll have to remember to come back in and vote at the deadline.

I forgot to in the Rush poll, and I'm still having nightmares about it. Cry

I think that this is probably the final result, so kudos to Floyd and may everyone celebrate by playing nothing but Piper up through the Meddle album for a week.

And thanks to micky and Raff for a fun time. Clap

Thanks for the poll Micky. Its been fun...
Now its
The masters of Psych/Space Rock.
               Vs
THE PROG BAND
One introduced me to Prog, i still prefer more, whom i can subconsciously vote on nostalgia.
Other is simply THE PROG BAND.
So, a vote for KC.

PF is my second favourite right behind KC, and they are amazing, but I just don't see how Floyd might ever be winning this... I guess being the definitive "transition band" and many people's first experience with prog helps... And let's not forget the huge fanbase.

Objectively, KC just is the better band.
20+ prog bands discovered and explored in 3 years, still going strong...

Objectively, progressively speaking, sure.

But objectively, generally speaking, Pink Floyd has certainly shipped a few more records.

It's impossible to deny the influences of either though. I'm still torn.

I knew when I saw Pops as your avatar that there'd be something worthy of reading! Your view on the PF vs KC thing mirrors mine exactly (I'm definitely down with the "Eagles of Prog" vibe).
