This band really needs to be listened to with complete concentration. As flaky as Mike Scheidt's syncretic esoteric religious lyrics and overambitious as the lengthy songs mixing influences from all over the place might be, he manages to pull it off as a songwriter. I need to really listen to their other albums, but this is one of those psychedelic doom records that are genuinely mind-expanding to listen to in the right mindset.
