Tough call. For the hell of it, I'll go with Son of Mr. Green Genes.

Village Of The Sun, because Echidna's Arf (Of You) is one of the most spectacular pieces of music ever written.

You've hit a lot of my favorites on this list.
Willie the Pimp - some of Zappa's best guitar work on this song. Amazing riffs. Beefheart's vocals make the song sound kind of silly though. ![]() Son of Mr. Green Genes - This is one of Zappa's best fusion tracks, imo. Peaches en Regalia is a good song, but I think there are so many better tracks on Hot Rats including this one. I love how it continues to revisit the theme in different ways, but still branches off with new instruments and verses every time. The Gumbo Variations - This one sounds like the most improvised tracks on Hot Rats, and doesn't fail to entertain. I love a good jam, and especially this one. One of Zappa's most underrated songs. Big Swifty - Good song. Great intro to Waka/Jawaka. I prefer the title track from this album though. Waka/Jawaka - One of my favorite Zappa songs. The big band song style introduces the mood/theme early, but just continues to carry and carry and never lets down, culminating quite beautifully. Don't Eat the Yellow Snow (suite) - This song is highly entertaining, mainly lyrically, but also musically. Packard Goose - The heaviest Zappa song I've heard, and the highlight of Joe's Garage. The funk you hear earlier on the album returns on this song. The lyrics are typically Zappa, but the message is clear, and amusing. The instrumental break is my favorite part. Watermelon in Easter Hay - Regarded as Zappa's best guitar solo, and not surprisingly. The song is a 9-minute long guitar solo, but it is incredibly beautiful, but also melancholy, suitably so since it's "Joe's last imaginary guitar solo". It's an excellent stand-alone track, but words can't describe how perfect of a fit it is on Joe's Garage for what it's written for. I went with Waka/Jawaka in the end, since it didn't have any votes. ![]() |

I went with Willie The Pimp because Peaches en Regalia wasn't on the list.

This is too difficult.
I'll choose Lumpy Gravy on a 16 sided coin coin flip.

It's got to be Waka/Jawaka, though some versions of King Kong are pretty great too.

Damn there is heaps of great Zappa here; love many of these. I'll give Watermelon in Easter Hay its first vote so far. What a f**kin' solo! Almost brings me to tears.

Son of Mr Green Genes - possibly my favourite track on Hot Rats, but it's often overlooked for some reason.
