Used to love Styx but can hardly listen to them anymore. Had to go with Grand Illusion.

I voted for Serpent a while back, that still remains and will always be.
I don't get what all the negative fussing towards these guys is about - they're a bunch of competent musos, they throw in a bit of complexity and textures in their songs, capable vocalists........and Dennis Deyoung is quite an accomplished pianist/keyboardist bursting with flamboyance and grandeur. Sometimes they remind me of Queen........

I'm with ya Tom, they're a great melodic rock band.  I'll take Cornerstone, my personal fave.  But I like all of them up through Paradise.

`Crystal Ball' by a mile for me! Sure it's got that throwaway bluesy bar rocker right in the middle, but the first side especially is honey-dipped pop/rockers with KILLER choruses.

The title track, `Mademoiselle', and `Jennifer' are incredible!

I wasn't aware Styx had any good albums. Every time I hear I hear Dennis DeYoung sing, I cringe.

Power-ballads : Lady, Come Sail Away, Pieces Of Eight, Babe, The Best Of Times and Don't Let It End......all very good, if not excellent songs. I don't see anything cheezball about them.
Brings me to mention Chicago with equally memorable material like Hard To Say I'm Sorry, Love Me Tomorrow, Hard Habit To Break etc.

Grand Illusion easily for me, but I'm rather surprised how many people chose it.  I would have thought anything up to Pieces of Eight would be in the running

Cartman is best left handling Mr Hankey, not Styx songs....😗

How could I not like a band with two great guitarists. 
I'm particularly fond of their '75 through '79 LPs.
A couple of my favorite songs are Too Much Time On My Hands and Blue Collar Man.
But in the end I voted for Big Bang Theory because I was impressed with their covers of some great classic songs and the six and a half minute version of Blue Collar Man.

Styx is a great band and The Grand Illusion is a great album.

When I wrote the bio for Prog Archives, it was some sort of dishonor to accept you liked them, I never  cared.

I remember a snob from the forum (who opened a thread on another forum to speak about Sean Trane and Mé) who said I was an ignorant because I liked them more than I like King Crimson.

Loved everything up through Cornerstone.  Could have given Grand Illusion the vote, but I gave Equinox some love.  Thought about Styx II as that was my first exposure to them and loved the songs "A Day" and "Father OSA".
