Topic: Kate Bush: Hounds Of Love Posted: December 29 2014 at 22:53 |
One of my favorite albums of all time. The whole thing is amazing, but I have to pick side 1, mainly because of Cloudbusting

Finally broke down and bought this after weeks listening to The Dreaming on repeat. I'll let you know in a few days when it gets here ...

This album is like two EPs paired together. Both are so good, but Side Two has that bit of edge to it.

While I like the first side, the second side touches me like she's ever done before or since.

A no brainer indeed. I'm still waiting for the CD/DVD/Blu-Ray of the concert so I can hear the version of "The Morning Fog". |
Yes indeed.
Off topic but I also want that brilliant live version of King Of The Mountain

I like the whole album, but I'll vote for The Ninth Wave.

This is not my favorite Kate Bush album (The Dreaming is) but it's a close runner up right after 50 Words For Snow.
I do have a slight preference for side 2.

I think that it was her sound since the beginning. A little assistance hurts nobody.

I suspect this was the first Kate Bush album where the production studio became her own instrument. On the first four she was more reliant on others to create her sound.

One of the greatest albums ever made and I've had to go for The Ninth Wave, especially after seeing it live. "The Morning Fog" is possibly my favourite Kate song.

I used to have this album but it mysteriously 'vanished' from my record collection (I lent it to a dude at my old work in the late 90's, who insisted a few weeks later he had returned it to me........ ). Anyway, most of side 2 was pretty decent, and some cool tracks on side 1 too.

I'll go with side 1 as I like all the songs there but the conclusion to side 2 (The Morning Fog) is my fave song on the album

I thought I'd look and see how popular this album was at the time. It was huge in the UK and had three top 30 singles off it. In the States only got to no 30 as did Running up that Hill. I dunno what does it take for you Americans to take note? . Anyway, I'm gonna go for Hounds of Love because it takes some talent to produce quality like that and be so popular at the same time. When it came out I listened to it over and over. I have never really thought about there being two sides as I had it on tape and always just listened to it right through every time. I wonder what was on the other side of that tape? 1985 hmmm?
