Yeah, Radiohead being out to me is nuts, I know a lot of people don't think they are prog and equally don't like their sound but my goodness they have a phenomenal sound and are truly experimental, aaargh!! Angry

I have no problem with them being considered prog, I just don't agree with "phenomenal" label. And experimental? Hadn't other bands been blending the same elements they did long before?

Well they say there's never anything new in music, I hear influences of Floyd, Joy Division, CAN and the like but I don't know of any bands who sounded like Radiohead before their seminal OK Computer. They have their own distinctive sound and have managed to bring that sound to the mainstream much more so than most experimental bands.

At the end of the day I just like the way they sound.

Is it just me, or is the Rome bracket extremely weak? There is King Crimson and basically no one else, sort of like the Lima bracket that has Yes (and please don't tell me Rush will be competition). But then you got one bracket with Genesis and Tull (and Tull will never beat Genesis with all the fanboys here), and another with ELP, Floyd and Gentle Giant.

Based on this set-up, I can see, sadly, the inevitable final four as King Crimson, Yes, Genesis and Floyd. I'd wager on it if were available on OTB.

Well we have had upsets already. I kinda wish we had brackets ahead of time and we could have filled them out like with the NCAA tournament. Our bets could have been reviews, only with the stipulation that they be in genres you tend to stay away from. Maybe next time?

^ Looking ahead I see a strong possibility of a Yes / Anglagard matchup. That could be very interesting.

actually I thought the Rome bracket potentially had the best matchups of any of them.

As it is, the fun is really to be had in the early rounds, baring a major upset it will boil down as it always has to big 4 or 5.  If Can couldn't beat K.C.... NO ONE was going to. So they will win Rome.. as Genesis will win theirs.. Floyd will theirs.. and Yes theirs.

The fun isn't the destination and getting a winner.. it is the journey! Just like the big dance itself Thumbs Up
