Yes could be.. ummm.. flaky.. but what they never were were boring.  Genesis IMO fails the most important musical test of all.... it simply wasn't interesting musically which outweighed any bonus points for being a very clever band that managed somehow to exist with peers with far more talent, and more interesting music.

   like I haven't spent years with you Genesis fans shaking your pitch forks and waving your torches at me from outside the high and stout walls of the Palazzo di Prog.
