I did a search and couldn't find any mention of the Genesis tribute band 'The Musical Box'

I must have done something wrong with the search - I figured they'd be well known here?

Not sure if there's a topic specifically about them, but they do come up from time to time.  I've seen them twice myself, once doing the 1973 repertoire, and again doing the Lamb show.  I imagine it's as close as you can get to seeing the real thing.  They've got the material and the stage show down.

My only chance for seeing Genesis live was on the Trick of the Tail tour (i missed it because I was grounded!!)
so when I saw The Musical Box I'd felt like i'd finally filled that terrible hole.

I saw the Lamb show myself - about 10 years ago ..

they were incredible

They'll be playing here next Friday, but unfortunately I can't go. Unhappy

Saw them on their SEBTP tour a few years back & they were excellent - so authentic, in fact that the mellotron broke down & had to be fixed mid-show
