No One Together (7)
An underrated Kansas epic on an underrated Kansas album.  I think it could make a phenomenal opener.

Song for America (10)
      One of their greatest achievements.

Lamplight Symphony (8)
A haunting ghost story with a chilling middle section.

The Spider (2)
     A bitching instrumental.

Closet Chronicles (6.5)
This song is allegorical and is about Howard Hughes.

Hope Once Again (4.5)
A stellar song from the Freaks of Nature album.

Apercu (9.5)
The song people should listen to if they think Kansas isn't prog.  A debut masterpiece that has been overlooked.

Icarus II (7)
One of the greatest sequels to a classic prog song ever.

Icarus (Borne on Wings of Steel) (6)
And its predecessor.  Kansas has actually done these two in reverse live and it's awesome.

A Glimpse of Home (6.5)
A favorite of mine from Monolith- amazing progressions from light symphonic to heavy prog.

Myriad (9)
      Brilliant composition.

Distant Vision (9)
     Beautiful composition.

Miracles Out of Nowhere (6.5)
Perhaps my favorite song from this band.

Dust in the Wind (3.5)
Livgren wrote this song because he was learning how to finger pick.  His wife heard it and said he should write a song around it.

Taking in the View (3)
I like this acoustic song better than "Dust in the Wind."  It's from the Power album.

The Pinnacle (10)
No official live version of this amazing piece exists that I am aware of.

Encore:

Carry on Wayward Son (5.5)
Their best known radio hit is actually a sequel to their most ambitious progressive rock epic- really!

Incident on a Bridge (5.5)
My favorite song from the Jon Elefante period.  I think it would make an awesome closer.

This would indeed be a GREAT concert!  I would go to see this line-up in a heartbeat!

For me it would be KC doing a set list of my favorite tracks from ITCOTCK up to and including Red.

Of course you can add several lists with several bands, whatever floats your boat.

I remember making rules like this back in the day!  I can understand the obligatory songs, but I don't agree about Yes' "Owner of a Lonely Heart" being one of those.  Half the DVDs and Live albums I have of Yes don't have that one, and I saw them in 2000 during their Masterworks Tour (8 songs in 2 hours!  Big smile)

But I'll make a list- not doing any of the additional things though.  LOL

I was just making some other list, and I know people enjoy and even like making lists of their favourites.

So here's an idea for a thread.

create your ultimate concert setlist from your favourite band. It's nice to do, and it will give some insight to others which songs of certain bands are really good and worth checking out.

Some 'rules' I would like to add, some songs are Obligatory, like Yes, can't have a concert without Owner of A Lonely Heart and Roundabout, like Queen can't have a show without Bohemian, rock you and champions, so obligatory tunes need to be incorporated (as it is your favourite band, you know which songs are obligatory). and a 'show' should be around 2 hours, including encores.

Feel free to add 'art-work'  production sleeves, line-up (choose your favourite picks from the band), tour-schedules (on your lawn or in your bathtub).

Of course you can add several lists with several bands, whatever floats your boat.
