I admit, that this is just a thread to find out songs from the post Gabriel era Genesis that are actually good. I have the 1st two lps after Gabriel left and I like Trick of a Tail very much while Wind and Wuthering has its moments, but is considerably weaker IMO. I guess I want to know what songs outside of these two lps are good.

Post-Hackett (ie., Trick of the Tail, Wind & Wuthering), the only songs I care for are Undertow and Guide Vocal.

Duke's Travels. Second Home by the Sea. The instrumental part of ABACAB. Naminanu. Not much else, and I'm grading on a curve. None of them are really spectacular by the band's prior standards. Maybe if Mama came on the radio, I might leave the station alone for a little while. An odd song that one is.

I remember Mama. I remember liking it back in the day. Just listened to
it. I still like it. It has a quasi neo progressive feel.

the last triplet with Hackett on W&W is my favorite, though there's Ripples, Follow You Follow Me, No Son of Mine, Los Endos, Turn It On Again, Mama, I Can't Dance, Dance on a Volcano, etc.

I enjoy all of Trick, Wind, and And Then There Were Three. For the others, my favorites are. Duke: Duchess, Heathaze, Cul-De-Sac, and... hm, Evidence of Autumn. Abacab: Abacab, No Reply At All, Me And Sarah Jane, Keep It Dark, Dodo/Lurker... the rest is iffy, but the album as a whole I like. Closest to new wave Genesis ever got. Genesis: Mama, That's All, Home By The Sea, Silver Rainbow... Taking It All Too Hard Invisible Touch: Tonight Tonight Tonight, Domino, In Too Deep, The Brazilian We Can't Dance: No Son of Mine, Jesus He Knows Me, I Can't Dance, Fading Lights Sorry... Calling All Stations doesn't do anything for me. Edited by fudgenuts64 - October 13 2014 at 01:05 |

I think I'm the rare case that prefers post-Hackett to post-gabriel. I'd say all their post-gabriel albums up through the s/t are pretty good. My favorite tracks being something like:
Dodo Mama Me and Sarah Jane Entangled Behind the Lines Edited by bloodnarfer - October 13 2014 at 11:19 |

I enjoy all of A Trick Of The Tail, Wind And Wuthering, the Spot The Pigeon EP, And Then There Were Three (including B sides), Duke (including B sides), Abacab and Genesis.
From Invisible Touch I like "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight", "Domino" and from The B-sides "Feeding The Fire" and "Do The Neurotic". From We Can't Dance I like "No Son Of Mine", "Hold On My Heart", "Dreaming While You Sleep" and "Fading Lights". From Calling All Stations I like the title track and "Congo". |

I'm certainly in the minorty but I like most of the post Gabriel output. Not as much as the things with Gabriel but it's good pop-music although that's not exactly my favorite genre.
The things you should check out are probably (not counting the stuff with Hacket expect the Archive songs): ...And then there were 3 (is it just me that thinks that the sound quality is very wishy washy?): Follow you, follow me; Snowbound (most definatly); Burning Rope; Scenes from a Night's Dream; The Lady Lies -Duke: The Duke Suite (Behind the Lines; Duchess; Duke's Travels; Duke's End) -Abacab: Abacab -Genesis: Mama; That's All; Home by the Sea; Second Home by the Sea -Invisble Touch: I'd say everything but for the progressive touch go for: Domino (Medley) and The Brazilian -We Can't Dance: I Can't Dance; Driving the Last Spike; Dreaming while you sleep; Fading distant Lights -Archives #2: The Day the Light went out; It's Yourself Trick of the Tail is in my opinion a fantastic album (I like it better than Foxtrot). The whole of Duke, ATOTT, and W&W are great, and ATTWT is consistently good, so the other albums:
Abacab: Abacab, No Reply At All, Keep It Dark (not entirely familiar with it) Genesis: Mama, Home By The Sea (that's it really) Invisible Touch: Tonight Tonight Tonight, Land Of Confusion, Anything She Does, Domino (love the whole album though) We Can't Dance: Jesus He Knows Me, I Can't Dance Calling All Stations: just avoid it to be honest...
