I know Ruins more than Kenso, but I'm going to vote for them anyway.

Mono is pretty good. Not my favorite Japanese acts here though.

I happen to believe that Kenso is the strongest prog act of the past 30 years or so, equalled only (perhaps) by Big Big Train.
Just a few months ago I got a copy of Kenso's latest album, which was released this summer. It was way too expensive (around £30, or 40 euro, for about 40 minutes of music) but the band cram more (and far better) ideas into a single album than most bands would in three! Bliss.

Kenso.

When he rides, my fears subside. For darkness turns once more to light. Through the skies, his white horse flies. To find a land beyond the night.

Looks like I need to check out Kenso. Ruins and Mono are equally "meh" acts for me. When they have their moments, they're amazing, but those don't happen often. Both acts are quite talented and do their genre very well, but I guess much of it feels too "by the books" for me.
