I'm wondering where the rampant Japanophilia in certain parts of the NWoBHM scene, of which this group basically are the poster boys for, came from. Maybe it has something to do with Japan and Britain being in some sense very similar countries? Both are monarchies consists of several islands, are old seafaring nations and former colonial superpowers, are prone to romanticizing their traditional aristocracies and consider tea really serious business. Hell, they even both drive on the left side of the road...
