Both well-appreciated albums released fairly recently. Both with heavy avant-garde tendencies. Which is your favorite?

The Seer is the best thing Swans ever did, and Hubardo is still not quite as good as Choirs of the Eye, so I'll give the edge to Swans.

Wow, the Ultimate Poll. Shocked

I'm leaning towards The Seer, but it's had an extra year to sink in.  I'll abstain for now.

Need to hear this Swans album, but it would have to be something spectacular to beat Hubardo.

I listened to the Seer once and it really wasn't my thing.  And Hubardo is brilliant.  But I'll definitely give the Seer a couple more tries before voting.  It seems like it could be a grower.

I keep really meaning to listen to "The Seer" in the last few weekends, but it's 2 hours long so Ermm Still, what I've heard on it is better than Kayo Dot for me, so Swans gets my vote Big smile

I suspect I would find it difficult to get through either. I prefer Kayo Dot when they're not in metal mode, and all the Swans I've tried so far has done nothing for me at best. Admittedly, I've not had it in me to try any of The Seer yet.

I prefer The Seer. It might be the best Swans album. Either that or Soundtracks for the blind, I haven't decided yet.

Been listening to The Seer, and Swans, for the first time now and I've got to say, it's really boring. Some interesting ideas that are never really developed and the few climaxes they attempt are rather anti-climactic. Easy choice with Hubardo this.

Yeah, with all the rave reviews I had to try it (The Seer), but I clearly did not get it, or hear what everyone was so enthused about.  Just not my cup of tea.
