Thank H, and yes, Area was one I instantly thought of in some ways as well.

I'm going to try and review it shortly, don't think there's any on the Archives so far.

Altare T. go sligthly in the direction of bands like Area or D.e.M.
but stay original.

This Album was one of my faves of the last year. I also liked the debut
album very much, but it is somewhat different.

The debut was less avant jazz and had some more hard - blues rock elements, which made it easier to digest. But both albums are great,
and I think it's a good thing to have some development.

It looks like there is a solo Album by the vocalist also, I coudn't find it yet (but there are some Clips on Youtube)

From the debut:

I found a few live clips of them too:

Jim, Pierre, Sagi...listening to that studio track and this live clip, can you think of any similar RPI bands they remind you of? Sometimes I'm reminded of other bands I've heard before, but cant quite put my finger on it....

Yes, Pierre! I heard the music first and thought `Wow, I like this!', and then those strong vocals come in, very intimidating and reckless!

It's a strange one, eh fellas? I just bought it blind from one of Greg Walker's most recent updates, but for some reason, Jim, I had the feeling you reviewed their previous album? I might have the wrong band altogether?

Sagi, I'll try and whip up a review for it over the next couple of days, so you can find out more about it. I loved that it still had these punchy little outbursts, quite wild and unpredictable!

Oh yes that was very good Mike! quite unique and different from the stuff I'm used to hear from Italy. Very jazzy and also borders lounge music? where Michelle Pfeiffer is lying on the piano, I mean that in a good way if that's possible Wink
I'd like to investigate that one further more, thanks! Clap

Guys, finally spun my CD of this, even though I bought it a month or two ago:

http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=41273

Dark dramatic improvised jazz with an insane vocalist ranting over the top! Gianni Venturi barely sings, instead he spits, taunts, croons...I have never heard vocals done in such a way, only Claudio Milano of Nicholodean comes close for sheer originality.

A very difficult album but utterly unique and fascinating!

This is too cool for me not to reply.  I was just looking through my RPI list of what to get next, I had it down to a couple of choices and Papillion was one of them...looks like that is what I am going to get tonight!

Thanks for the influence my fine feathered friend!  With an assist by The H...

Jim....yep....that's right outside my back window a month or so ago.  The birds could just walk right up to the feeder without even flapping their wings.  Not that there's too  many around.  It was a brutal winter, cold and tons of snow.  But its melting good now.

Makes driving an adventure, that's for sure.  Approve

Jim, I hope that your new Avatar is not in your yard!  That bird feeder looks to be on a 4 or 5 foot pole with very little clearance to the snow.  This winter has been ridiculous!

Really been getting into this one over the past few weeks since the sad news.  I am usually not a fan of live albums, but this is one of the exceptions!

Thanks Jim, and Pierre too! I HAVE seen this show up on one of Greg Walker's list (can't recall if it was LP or CD), and was always curious. I love it's rougher wilder guitar sound! That bass really chases you too!
