Too bad Psicomagia were so late to the party. I think they would appeal to a lot of folks who went for the more experimental releases. Think Soft Machine goes Krautrock and you're not that far off.

Good to see Guapo, Sigur Ros, Chrome Hoof & Mirthkon well up the charts and the continued Avant renaissance is well represented. Nice chart if the top 5 is a big predictable.

Didn't like new Kayo Dot or Guapo, but I'm glad they're getting some attention. Kveikur is a good'un, though.

I've heard Chrome Hoof's name mentioned by friends of mine, but I never listened to them. CBG sounds groovy and worth checking out.

edit: oh, and Cult of Luna, miRthkon, Gorguts.  Vaura and Jean Louis should be higher though Wink

As much as I like this year's new releases, some of my favorite additions come from previous years -

Caridacs - Sing To God
Tea Club - the whole f**king catalog (three albums)
The Staves  - Dead & Born & Grown
Maseratu - IV

In any case, I own 7 of the top 10, though not all of them would have made my own personal top ten.  Probably just SW, Haken and maybe Guapo.

I just listened to the Chrome Hoof track.  Good stuff!  I added it to my 'want list'.
I would have bought Hubardo, had it a CD release!
And I may get the B&B at some point as well.  So that takes care of the top 10.  Tongue

Great job, Andy!

I only had 1 out of 10, and it was the Kayo Dot album.

Does that make me the resident hipster?ConfusedLOL

Great work, Andy!

Not surprised to see SW at the top. Sigur Rós, on the other hand, I'm delighted, as well as surprised, to see up there. Didn't think it would get enough votes.

Had 4/10 on my top 10 list. Damn, I'm mainstream!

Super surprised and stoked to see Chrome Hoof did so well, I thought that one flew under most peoples radars, given that it's not even in the top 100 of 2013 chart on the home page.

Glad to see Haken so near the top. Amazing work, Andy. I had 2 picks in the top 10.

Excellent job there Andy and a great list as well, so varied that I'm not even that bothered that Steve Wilson won, again!

I was afraid the top 10 was going to be overly 'commercial,' as it has been in past years, but I was pleased at the assortment of RIO and lesser-known groups in the top.

The top 25 also has a lot of lesser-known bands that managed to climb the chart pretty quickly, especially In Hoc Signo which seemed to get to 12 in just the past few days.

Great work once again Andy. Clap

Interesting as always though I felt 2013 was  weak in comparison to recent years.

You're getting sooo mainstream. Sleepy

LOL I know what's happening to me?

Or maybe the average voter is moving ever so slightly away from the exact same thing?
Back when I was 15 and be-pimpled I'd rather saw off my own arm than listen to anything mainstream. It was a matter of honour. Even if I did like The Prodigy I sure as hell wouldn't give in to it, let alone tell anybodyLOL Call me odd, but I think I see a bit of that behaviour on PA too, I'm just glad I grew up (a bitTongue). If it's good it's good, no matter how many folks listen to it. That's my new mantra - yeah that and "never pleasure yourself with a screwdriver".
