I won't be voting here - these are 2 LP's I once owned many years ago that didn't do much for me, don't know why. I got rid of them (many years ago...). I would say Mahavishnu over Weather Report in this case (from memory.............and my recollections aren't that frazzled...)

Birds of Fire.
I'm enjoying these Fusion polls, so nice to have something that isn't about the usual suspects. |

I voted for Body Electric cos I haven't heard the other one. So this is unfair.

I rank I Sing the Body Electric among the finest fusion albums ever made, so putting it up against a band that I only rarely fathom, makes this pretty damn easy for me.
(I must admit, after having seen a couple of live cuts off of You Tube, I am slowly beginning to see the attraction with Mahavishnu, but I am only slowly getting there).

I'm biased towards Birds of Fire because my dad played it a lot when I was a kid, and I only discovered the Weather Report album much later, so I'm not as familiar with it. Side by side, I'm sure they're of comparable quality, but my vote will go to Birds of Fire.

This is tough, but I'm going with Weather Report.

I'm a huge fan of Weather Report but "Birds of Fire" is the clear winner here based only on my own musical taste

I've recently re-bought my copy of ISTBE and getting the vinyl hasn't exactly diminished my love of it. I also vastly prefer it's enigmatic cover art to that of Birds of Fire tbh.
