Too, too hard. Went with Hatfield and the North, though about six others could have easily taken top spot.

Excellent choices from an excellent year -- there are so many I love here.  I'm going with Sextant.

My brain explodes.

I'll choose Legend today.

Bursting at the Seams is a very inconsistent album (not as good as its 2 predecessors or its 2 successors) but the good bits are astonishing. Flying, Lady Fuschia, Down by the Sea, The River and Tears and Pavan are utterly brilliant. It gets my vote. Pity about Thank You and Part of the Union!

The Caravan album is also very good.

Focus - 3, Over-nite Sensation, Bursting at the Seams, or Flying Teapot. I haven't voted yet.

Focus 3
When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

Man, there are endless great albums here, but I'll go for a personal favourite that always puts me in a great mood, Curved Air's `Air Cut'.

That back cover is one of my prog favourites, looks amazing on vinyl!

I heartily concur! Metamorphosis is a prog masterpiece, showing Jobson as a wunderkind. UHF and Armin are perennial favorites too.Clap
Fabulous year , perhaps the best ever!

Great minds think alike and all, my friend!

You know, I decided to recommend this album to a friend, so the quickest solution I had was to look it up on Youtube and send her the link. I just let the whole album play, and when I heard `Elfin Boy' and `Metamorphosis', despite having heard them endless times before over the years, it really hit me just how amazing they are! It was like hearing them for the first time! `Metamorphosis' is just as good as anything on those classic Renaissance albums from the 70's too!

Totaly agree, Herc! Great little album, a really easy and lovely album to play once in a while, and you nailed it about those two dog tracks, wretched!

Wow, some tough choices. I could pick the Dream, or Herbie, or the great self-titled by Alphataurus. I don't know. I'll vote for Eloy, though it's really a tie with Alphataurus!
