Moonmadness, Mirage, Camel............but on any given day Mirage might beat out Moon.

The Snow Goose
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Mirage here easily for me. No matter how many times I listen to Moonmadness or Snow Goose (or any other Camel album for the matter) I don't understand why they get so much credit compared Mirage.

Just yesterday I have listened to Rajaz and the debut album. I put the first four and Rajaz at the same level. When I'm in a Camel mood I can take any of their albums (except for The Single Factor)
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Mirage for me by a mile.  It was my 1st Camel album and though I bought everything for the next few years, nothing I ever heard from them later measured up.

I'll have to go with 'Mirage'. It's got 'Canterbury' written over most of it.

Top 5
1) Moon Madness
2) Mirage
3) Rain Dances
4) Breathless (it's got Echoes!)
5) The Snow Goose

A top notch bunch of excellence (IMHO)

Mirage, followed by Moonmadness and The Snow Goose.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

I just listened to the debut this morning, and surprise surprise it gets my vote. Been ages since I last spun it, and man have I been missing out! I usually go for Mirage in these polls, but not today.
Really dig Rain Dances and Breathless as well, and I don't fall asleep anymore while listening to the Snow Goose. I am actually on the cusp of being won over by it methinks.

Read the Paul Gallico story on which it's based. Once you've done that, its true brilliance becomes apparent. If you don't know the story, I could quite easily understand why you fall asleep.

It's been on my reading-list for a long time. Thanks for the reminder.

Moonmadness, with the highlight being the most quintessential use of the Freeman string synthesizer by Bardens on "Lunar Sea."

Moonmadness. Lunar Sea is among my favourite instrumentals of all time.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I think you know something I strongly suspect that isn't yet public knowledge!

BTW - anyone seeing Camel on their tour?

I'm in Harrogate on Oct 19th - I haven't seen them do the full Snow Goose album (because I was not around for the 75 tour when they last did it) and I can't wait. If anyone wants to meet for a beer before, I'm up for it.

I never liked Moonmadness that much, and The Snow Goose is sort of missing something, so for me its Mirage

But this depends on what you want to hear.
Yes, generally I`d also say Moonmadness but anyhow Harbour of Tears, too!
Therefore you can ask the eclipsed magazine, too, I guess.
