Well, I'll be honest, I don't have any love for Fosters either, so I'll give you that lol!
Don't worry about it, not wanting to start any trouble.

They do seem to be the favorite in this poll.

Some days my fav is Animals, some days it's AMLOR or Meddle, but most days it's WYWH.

Rubbish may be too strong a word to use, but I'm not particularly fond of this album either. The one song that I really love on this album is "Astronomy Domine", and the next 2 or 3 songs are kind of OK too, but the rest of the album is just not my taste. "Interstellar Overdrive" was an almost great song, but it had too much disonance and too little of the cool riffs at the beginning.

My personal fav is Live in Pompeii, by far. From the studio albums, i am among Atom Heart Mother and Meddle. Vote goes to the first of them.

I don't think I would put Live in Pompeii as my favourite, but it's right there next to Wish you were Here and Animals for me, and just a bit above Dark Side and Division Bell. I wish it had been released as an audio album too, that would have been great. In some ways, I find Live in Pompeii better than Meddle... it certainly has a better selection of songs (and it has the best songs from Meddle included). The only thing is that the performance and/or recording of those songs is a bit better on Meddle.

Wish You Were Here, with Animals close behind. Meddle is up there too.

Pompeii - just amazing. Waters bass during the funky section of Echoes first half is stunning, he has such a great sound here, better than the 'Meddle' version. And Gilmour plays these glorious power-chords and just rips it on his black strat. Man, I think I'll dig out my DVD of this today.

I don't get why Dark Side isn't the top answer to be honest. Better than WYWH and Animals to me

Well...I agree with you X man................imo DSOTM has a better batch of songs ; to me WYWH is a close second and Animals is third.
I chose Meddle because it's a sentimental favorite with me.

Well, I don't mind the repetition myself. Actually, it's fun to do it again from time to time. But that's me.
My vote: DSOTM, the clear winner for me. Bubbling under: WYWH, Animals, Ummagumma, Meddle, The Wall.

I'm with you...I find that over time my favourites change and I think it's fun to revisit the choices and it helps keep the music in front of my ears

Animals is perhaps one of the most powerful albums I have ever heard. There is no other Pink Floyd album with quite as much power.
|
I am currently digging:
Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!
Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

Mmm... well, for me both "Wish You were Here" and "Animals" are stronger than Dark Side. I guess that's mainly because those other albums have less songs, and they are longer, so they have more space to develop and create atmospheres, and get longer solos.

Love Piper, pure brilliance. Top ten fave for me. Saucerful is great, too. Bored by DSotM and everything after.

Has to be Dark Side of the Moon, despite some reservations.
