What are your favorite jazz fusion tracks? Feel free to go over - or under - 10 :-)

Mahavishnu Orchestra - Sanctuary
Last Exit - Side One of IRON PATH, which is a suite of songs much like Santana's side one of CARAVANSERAI
Miles Davis - In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew
Larry Coryell - Spaces (Infinite)
Sonny Sharrock - tie between Promises Kept, Many Mansions, Who Does She Hope to Be and Blind Willie
Return to Forever - Return to Forever and Spain
Billy Cobham - Heather
Jean-Luc Ponty - Mirage
Miroslav Vitous - Freedom Jazz Dance
Jeff Beck - Diamond Dust
Herbie Hancock - Chameleon

Special mention to Oregon's pieces The Silence of a Candle and Baku the Dream Eater (both from the album MUSIC OF ANOTHER PRESENT ERA), which are a fusion of acoustic jazz and Indian and world music influences.

Besides the classic Davis and Hancock and Weather Report stuff, basically all the fusion I listen to is more accurately described as Canterbury Scene Geek

Miles Davis - Go Ahead John
Miles Davis - The Little Blue Frog
Miles Davis - He Loved Him Madly
Miles Davis - Mtume
Herbie Hancock - Ostinato (Suite for Angela)
Elephant9 - Habanera Rocket
One Shot - Black P.
Pierre Moerlen's Gong - Percolations, Pts. 1 & 2
Sloche - Potage Aux Herbes Douteuses
Sloche - Stadacone
National Health - Tenemos Roads
Caravan - The Love In Your Eye/To Catch Me A Brother/Subsultus/Debouchement/Tilbury Kecks

I dunno I guess some of that is probably fusion.  Was always more of a bebop guy.

I only really like prog fusion eg National health, Gilgamesh, zao etc
They have a bit more melody and they don't try and be over complex with excessive soloing etc.
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.
