I love Foxtort but it's probably only in my top 10 prog albums. maudlin of the Well's "Part the Second" is the best

Of course `Foxtrot' is the best album here by a mile, but after over-dosing on it for 20 years now, it's kind of starting to become background wallpaper music. Not a lot of secrets left to disciver in it.
So pretty much all the other albums on this list are far more exciting these days, many of them not nearly as bad as their reputation gives them, so I voted for Camel's `The Single Factor'. Just a pleasant mix of AOR, prog and instrumentals, with Latimar's playing in fine form. `Love Beach', `Talk' and `At King' all have great moments on them too.

I wouldn't cry....I still have no doubt Foxtrot will win...unless there's been a secret conspiracy of `Love Beach' fans that have been waiting for this opportunity to rise up!

The Lighthouse Keeper here just saying " hello" to members. I've recently joined , so here i am.,and for what it's worth Foxtrot should win it comfortably ,though personally I believe "Selling England" is a better album, but only just.

Foxtrot is the Best Masterpiece of Genesis . Genesis are among the best five Progressive bands , but Gong , Camel & ELP are excellent as well ! a tough choice indeed //

Something you might need to understand about this site, there are dozens upon dozens of members who have wildly different tastes and preferences. The prog world is a very broad one, and not everybody is going to agree with what you do and don't like. And there isn't a single thing wrong with that. We're all individuals and we aren't meant to enjoy the same things to the same degrees. That's what makes prog, and by extension this community, so wildly diverse and interesting, full of many new wonderful discoveries to be made if you keep an open mind. As for the poll, I won't vote. Even though Foxtrot is a great album, it's a far cry, and I mean a FAR cry from the best prog album in my book. But that's just me. I'm very much more a Lamb guy. That's my third favorite album ever, and first by Genesis.

Yeah, you did say idiots, plenty of us saw it, but you just re-edited it quickly.
Look, you love `Foxtrot' - good for you, you enjoy that album. Go on, put it on now, give it a spin, bet it sounds good. You're obviously very proud of your devotion to it.
But calling everyone else idiots just because they don't feel the same way as you is absurd. Put it this way, I can't stand Jethro Tull, and you know what, pretty sure most of the time one of their albums is ranked as the number 1 album on this site. Do I think everyone that voted for it to get to that rank is an idiot? No! Just means there's a lot of other people that enjoy and appreciate that album a lot more than I can, and good on them.
Just ease up a bit, dial it down a notch...and don't worry, you'll find plenty of other people that love Genesis on the site. They're one of the defining progressive bands for a reason!

Cute. This is why I always fully quote the post I'm commenting on.
I can make it so you are unable to post-edit posts. I can make it so you are unable to make polls. I can make it so you are unable to post at all. Or I can do none of those things. I'll leave the choice to you.
